Friendly Fill-ins: Week 39

Welcome to "Friendly Fill-Ins"! You can find the fill-ins here or at 15andmeowing.com each Thursday. The first two fill-ins are provided by my co-host, Ellen. The final two statements are offered by myself. We have posted a link so we can all share the completed fill-ins.

We thank you for joining us each week. Your participation is very important. Sharing with you and getting to know you better through your answers is what it is all about. Please remember to visit everyone on the list. It is Super Bowl weekend and Bill is home so I may be late! But, I will be there.

I am still having breathing issues, and I am just so tired. Bill is also fighting a cold, now. Love shares everything. I hope you are all well and happy. No matter what you do, I hope your weekend is great!

Here are my completed fill-ins for this week:

1. My middle name is Ann, which is a common name in my ancestry. My first name is McGuffy. Just about everyone who knows me calls me Annie. I love my first name, but I really feel like “Annie”.

2. I do not do well with surprises. I don’t like anyone to go out of their way for me. On the other hand, I like to do things for others. I am much more comfortable with that.

3. The Super Bowl is something Bill and I like to watch together. He will be home, so we have plans for the event. It will be difficult for me, as I am first and foremost a Green Bay Packer fan. My second favourite team has long been The Pittsburgh Steelers. Both were in the play-offs. I am having a hard time accepting that The NE Patriots are in it, again. *augh*

4. My favourite sport is football. I have been a football fan since I was a teen. I used to follow NASCAR, too, back in the day when it was all “good old boys”. I was a serious Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan. We went to the Michigan race every year. NASCAR has changed in too many ways. They are constantly changing rules, and the old favourites are retired or gone. It is not at all what it used to be. Football remains an essentially great American sport.

~May all of your surprises be pleasant & fun!~

Now, it's your turn. Please link up with us here. Or, you can answer in the comments

  1. Wow. Your number 2 could've been taken from my own mouth. I do not do well with surprises, yet Bear Cat is nothing BUT surprises. He challenges me to live outside my comfort zone every single day. I also completely understand not being comfortable with others going out of their way for me ... but I'd go out of my way for anyone else without a second thought. It's nice to know I'm not alone :)

  2. The black and white Whut kitty reminds me of Xerxes. Back when I lived in Spartanburg, South Carolina, the little convenience store I worked at was directly across the street from a major engine builder for NASCAR. We met many of the pit chiefs and some of the drivers. They would come get a snack while having an engine built from scratch. It was fun. No money, but fun.

  3. I love the cat watching the mechanical bank. Say what?!

  4. Totally agree with you about surprises!

  5. What is that thing in the box in the last image? It looks like a really fun toy. :)

I like the name "Annie". I'm kind of attached to it myself. It was the name of Big Mama, my daddy's paternal grandmother. She's in the blog header for PS Annie! and is the one my blog is named for. My daddy's sister's middle name is Ann as is the middle name of her oldest daughter. And, I'm Suzanne, a smooshing of Big Mama Annie and Aunt Suzie (Annie's sister). Daddy wanted to name me Suzie Annie. Mama made it Suzanne. At this point in my life, I wish that Daddy had won that one. Oh well.

I don't do well with surprises, either. I have trust issues and surprises, by their nature, mean keeping secrets. It just triggers a while host of not nice feelings in me. I need to work on that.

I love the images! I had a black and white cat named Trouble when I was a teenager. The Whuutt kitty and Grumpy Cat and the Super Bowl kitty are too funny!

    Have a blessed weekend!

  6. SUPER answers on this Friday before Super Bowl! I used to watch football ALL THE TIME...even though the Washington Redskins have had a lot of ups and downs (mostly downs) I was a die-hard fan. These days - not so much. I spend more time on the computer than watching TV. Surprises are fun (usually). Only the health related surprises throw me these days! Happy Friday......

    Hugs, Pam (and Angel Sam)

  7. Sweetie is also a Packers fan, and was very sad to see them lose. Thanks for hosting!

  8. I'm sorry Annie that you're having breathing issues. It's awful not being to breath deeply. I hope that you'll feel well again very soon.

You wouldn't like me because, I too go out of my way for people. I'm a servant. I can't help it. I like things to be right for everyone.
I don't care for surprises either. I like to know ahead of time what to expect as I'm not spontaneous. I like to plan. I'm not a sport fan probably because I never attended any sport events except when my kids were in school.

    Get better soon.
    Hugs,
    Julia

  9. McGuffy is a very interesting first name. Personally, I am with Grumpy Cat on the Super Bowl this year: I hope both teams lose, but if only one team can lose, I hope it's the Patriots. I'll be watching the Kitten Bowl!

  10. I hope you and Bill get to enjoy your game together!!

  11. I think I've told you this before, but I just love your first name! McGuffy - it's just so unique and beautiful. Of course Ann, and Annie, they're also beautiful! I know exactly how you feel with #2, as it really is just so much easier to give a surprise than to receive one. And I am so glad that Bill gets to be home so that you two can watch the Super Bowl together! Have a wonderful, fun weekend!

  12. I hope you both feel better soon. The last picture looks similar to my cat Cookie. Have a great weekend!

  13. I am sorry you are still having breathing problems. I hope you both feel better soon. Great answers, sorry about those Patriots, they are a good team. Have a nice weekend! XO

  14. I'm sorry to hear you're still not feeling well. The flu and the like always seem to linger for a long time. How nice that Bill is home on Super Bowl weekend and you both can enjoy it together. My sister and her family love the Green Bay Packers. I know they're disappointed. I wish I would have learned to love football. It really is a great American sport.

  19. Annie, going from Fluffy to Trouble sounds a more intimidating. lol I like being surprised as long as it's good. The Packars and Steelers are great teams. We cheered for both. I like the Patriots and won't cry if they win but I think I'm gonna cheer for the underdogs this year. The last time the Falcons were at the Super Bowl was in the late 90s, so it would be cool to see them win. The kitty game face is cute and I liked the cat in the gif. It doesn't quite know what to make of the little paw coming out of the box, does it? lol Cats are so funny! Thanks for hosting the fill-in fun. Enjoy the game and have a good weekend!

  20. Not a sports fan here. I don't even know who is playing in the Super Bowl! Sorry you are having such a long bout of lung problems. Hope the week-end is a good one and a healthy one.

  21. I share Grumpy cat's feelings on this one!

  22. Enjoyed your answers. So McGuffy is actually your first name? That is really unusual, so how did that come about? - I'm an Oakland Raider fan and was so disappointed when they lost their Main QB and then the backup QB - I think they may have gone further had that not happened. I don't really care who wins now although I'd rather it not be the Patriots.

  23. As always, your memes are totally wonderful. My answer to #2 would have been identical to yours if the diet coke incident had not happened. I am so sorry that you are still sick and that Bill is as well. You are always in my prayers. I hope you don't have to wait through another six weeks of winter before you are feeling better. Sending lots of love and hugs, Janet

  24. We are sorry you are still having difficulty breathing, Annie. We'll keep purring and praying you're better real soon.

I love your answer to number 2. That just how we are, too! We are sad that the Steelers and Packers got knocked out of the playoffs, too. But we hope you and Bill have fun watching the game tomorrow! :)

    Hugs!

  25. What an unusual first name you have. Is it a family name? We'll be watching the Super Bowl, but we really don't care which team wins...just as long as it's a good game. Feel better!
