He is Home!

Bill is home! After another long run, my husband is finally home. We were apart for Halloween and Thanksgiving, then finally reunited mid-December.
We were apart for Christmas and the New Year's holidays. I went to Mayo Clinic without him, which was hard for both of us. In 30+ years, we have never been apart like this. Bill & I are inseparable.
He will be home for four days, before he goes back on the road. I will take him when I can get him. That's how is it for the long haul truck drivers, and their wives.
Appreciate your spouse or significant other. I certainly do mine.
Time together is precious.

  4. Hopefully the separations won't always be this long. Once things fall into a routine, he should be home at least every month. Still not enough, I know, but it is what it is ... your future will hold more hope for both of you because of what he is doing now. Love you both ...

  11. That has to be so hard. I think it's hard for me and my hubby, but I know we have it "easy" compared to others. He works two jobs so is gone from 10am until 530am, then sleeps til 930am and leaves again. This goes on 6 of the 7 days. I know he is here to sleep, but I feel he really isn't here. We catch up and try to spend time together on Mondays which is his day off. I can't imagine not having that either for long periods.

So glad your hubby is home for a few days so you can get some quality time together. Enjoy it! I know you will.

Welcome home Bill! I know you know this already, but you have an amazing wife who is just wonderful! :-)

  12. Dear McGuffy Ann,
I'm happy for you. I don't have a husband, but I have close friends and so agree with you that time together is precious. It is to be cherished for it is so fleeting.

    Peace.

Don't worry if you don't want to do it---I totally understand! They take a lot of time!!! Have a great week!

  14. I had a friend whose husband was a long-haul truck driver; I would not like that. I'm glad neither of us has to travel for our jobs.

  15. I know the feeling. My husband was away for weeks at a time.

Now he's always here - be careful what you wish for! :D
