  1. What a great picture! If the walls of that saloon could talk, I bet they'd have some stories to tell!

  2. What a delightful reminder of the place I call home! The badlands are so amazingly beautiful, Papa Sapa - The Black Hills, are a wealth of such places, some fun and some tragic, bearing signs from the past which say things like "No Indians Allowed".

    1. Exactly. I took this when Bill & I were traveling as newlyweds, hippies in a van, with our old dog. The history, the reality, it all spoke to me. We love this area of the country for its authenticity & history, and stark beauty.

  3. You should say something about what it says on the sign in English and Lakota. I don't think it is clear enough for people to pick up on it ... it is, of course,an awesome picture :)

  5. I love it too, Annie, one can feel the spiritual energy of the land there. The only part I detest is Mt. Rushmore, descecration of a once sacred place.
