Water for Koalas

*This was shared with me by Bill,
my husband & "partner" in all things,
including our love of critters.
Someone sent it to him,
& he knew I would enjoy it.
We think you will enjoy it,
as well.

IN 2009, DURING A HEAT WAVE
IN AUSTRALIA,
IT  HIT 120 DEGREES.
IT WAS SO HOT
THAT KOALAS
WERE BEGGING
FOR WATER.
THIS IS UNUSUAL.

ONE KOALA WENT
TO A HOUSE
TO SEEK RELIEF
FROM THE HEAT.
HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED
WHEN THE OWNER
GAVE HIM SOME
WATER TO DRINK...

CRITTERS HAVE
NEEDS & FEELINGS!
WE NEED TO PAY
ATTENTION.

  4. Even a little Koala knows what feels good on a hot summer day! These photos are so sweet, though my friends from Australia assure me koalas can be pretty fiesty little critters, not the unassuming teddy bears that they appear. Still, all of Gods creatures need water, especially when it's so terribly hot. I loved these pics, Bill always shares the best stuff!

  5. That's really adorable. How beautiful it is to behold when all creatures are cared for as they should be. :)

  6. Dear McGuffy Ann, thank you for this posting and your Saturday one as well. All of us who love and value animals need to remember what you've reminded us off. This heat is a killer of both humans and animals. Peace.

  7. This so adorable. Thanks so much for sharing this gorgeous story. I like to think that my house is critter friendly. We keep the cat in at night. We have a nature reserve near us (no koalas unfortunately) but lots of kangaroos, birds and small marsupials. I wish more people were careful about the native animals.

    1. Thanks Kate. It's very obvious how we feel about critters...not only pets. All critters need care, just as people do. We share this planet.
