Women's Day

Sister
I don’t know you, but you’re one of my sisters;
the journey we walk causes unseen blisters.
The burdens upon us cause emotional pain;
the battles we wage leave scars that remain.
We walk the same roads of sisters before,
our reason, our purpose, too strong to ignore.
Tears left behind, shame washed away,
our future begins with steps taken today.

  8. I remember some of these sentiments--certainly the one that we are all sisters--from the 1970s. I especially like the washing away of shame.
