A Winter Haiku

Morning after snow
joy awakens in the trees,
squirrels and birds seek food.

  2. Beautifully done Haiku, Annie, and the picture is perfect for it! I love how easily you incorporated both prompt words. The snow is so beautiful to look at, but also means more shoveling to do, which isn't always so joyful. I wish you some warm, sunny days too!

  4. The trees are so beautifully dressed for the season. This is gorgeous! As I type this, only the birds and squirrels are active outdoors. More snow last night and I think everyone is already fed up with the snow removal! :)

  17. Great poem. I enjoy watching the squirrels look for fallen food after a thunderstorm. I usually see lots of different species of birds looking for food also, after we get one of those cold, windy cold fronts. I don't enjoy the cold fronts, but I enjoy seeing all of the different species of birds. : )
