Friday Fill-In #160

The "Follow Friday Four Fill-In" is hosted by Hilary at Feeling Beachie . Each week, she posts statement with blanks. Our mission, should we choose to accept, is to copy the statement and fill in the blanks on our blogs. Then link up to her blog for sharing. Hilary is always looking for co-hosts and more statements for us to fill in. Please visit her, and let her know your suggestions!

The statements & My Answers:

1. I love to walk Stella except when there are unknown dogs running loose.

2. I can’t sleep when I have a lot on my mind, or something I "need to do", the next day.

3. I used to worry about what other people thought, but now I realize I have no control over what they think, but rather only how I (re)act.

4. If I could, I would do everything with Bill all day (every day). For over thirty years he was corporate, so being apart is not our “normal”. I am proud of him for re-inventing himself, though. He's my hero.

  1. I didn't realize that trucking wasn't Bill's first career, for some reason always assumed you both had spent most of your married life dealing with the separations. I can only imagine the adjustment!

    1. Unfortunately, when the economy fell, Bill lost everything. He was in manufacturing for 35 years, and had worked his way up. He had to start over, as the U.S. outsourced us right out of the market. It is hard being apart, but Bill works hard. I am proud of him.

  2. Spending time with my hubby is also wonderful. My hubby took retirement when the place he worked closed down. He was there for 30 years.

    1. I wish it would have been that easy for Bill, but the company was in serious trouble. They didn't care about employees, either.

  3. I wish that you and Bill could be together every day. It must be so difficult to be away from each others so much. He's a good man to keeps in touch with you and the fur babies.

  4. I am home with my husband every day and though I love him dearly, I do need me time (and often spend it with you :). I know it is hard to be apart the way you are and maybe down the road, that will change ... when the time is right. Meanwhile, continue to hang tough :)

  7. I just had a stray dog that looks exactly like Stella wander into my yard the other morning. I thought she had come all the way just to see ZooZoo off to school. LOL
I grabber her collar though just as her owner came running down the street. She was such a sweet dog -- but I guess she saw all the kids playing tag and couldn't resist joining them. :)
Bill is awesome. I hope you get a whole day together soon.

    1. Oh my! Stella is a bi-black Sheltie. They are very uncommon. I wonder if that is what you saw! It certainly sounds like it. Stella would love ZooZoo. One of her best friends is the granddaughter of the illustrator of Bedtime Tail.

  8. Now that we are both retired, Tom and I pretty much do #4. I like it. I remember when you were posting about #3. You used the blanks as an opportunity to express what you have been feeling. Good job. Hugs, Janet

  15. #3 - good for you! It is a very important lesson that most people have to learn and I am no exception, but I am working on it.
#4 - really is very, very sweet. I haven't known you for that long so I didn't know either that trucking wasn't Bill's first choice. Reading about the circumstances now - kudos! - that is not an easy thing to do. Good thing about today's connectivity through phone, skype, text - makes it just that little bit easier to be apart, right?
