Friday Four Fill-In #159

The "Follow Friday Four Fill-In" is hosted by Hilary at Feeling Beachie. Each week, she posts statement with blanks. Our mission, should we choose to accept, is to copy the statement and fill in the blanks on our blogs. Then link up to her blog for sharing. Hilary is always looking for co-hosts and more statements for us to fill in. Please visit her and let her know your suggestions!

The statements & My Answers:

1. I do not require a lot of material possessions. The things important to me are not physical or tangible "things". (I do not consider animals or my FurKids possessions.)

2. Sometimes I wonder if mankind will ever learn from history or mistakes made.

3. It is very unusual but I do not watch or read horror/paranormal movies or books. I have read some nonfiction ghost books that were of a historical nature (though rarely). I feel uncomfortable with anything "supernatural".

4. Is it illegal to keep secrets that may be questionable?

  2. Your 2nd one....that's a question, I think, we ALL have.

  3. Some secrets kept can be illegal. I don't mind scary movies vampire and ghost movies (as long as they aren't gross), but slasher flicks I hate. No answer your question, no mankind will NEVER learn from their mistakes. BTW, thanks for sending a few of your readers over to check out my WW linky party. You're so sweet!

    1. I don't like anything with horror; there is enough on TV. I also dislike anything demonic; I don't want to invite or validate evil! See you on WW!

  4. I don't like clutter but I like to live in basic comfort. I learn from my mistakes and the mistakes of others, I do not care for horror movies or books and anything evil.
I'm not one to keep secret unless it's a shared secret. To me truth is important.

    Hugs,
    JB

    1. Ha! Neither have I. No, I don't care for Sci-Fi, either.

  7. I get the idea of loving "things" -- it seems to be in our nature to want to Acquire. But over the years I have gotten better at resisting this urge and being content with less. It might have something to do with my intolerance for clutter.
Unless it has an Apple Logo -- then I Must Have! LOL

I am funny sort: I like scary stories - the mystery and suspense. But I hate being scared! I'm a wuss when it comes to scary movies; but at the same time I want to see. very weird.

    1. I did when I was much younger, but I am very uncomfortable when it comes to "evil". I don't go there, as there is enough in daily life. I like to get away from it when possible.

  9. I totally agree with you on number two. This is something I wonder about almost every day.

  10. Material possessions vs. non-material, I am with you, there are much more important things than materialistic possessions (health, love, peace to name a few), however, having said that, a few of my possessions are pretty important to me e.g. camera, computer
No. 2 is most likely an eternal question, to never be answered.
I am a scaredy pants! I don't watch horror or anything with too much slashing and blood. But I do like some supernatural and definitely sci-fi and fantasy - if it is good, it propels me into another world to experience. And I love travel.
No. 4 - well, I guess it depends on the secret - LOL

    1. I understand, Claudia. You have a gift with the camera!
Yes, #2 is truly in God's hands.
I can understand what you mean with fantasy and (time) travel. I just never got into any of that much. I tend to be pretty practical. I do however like certain authors who offer a bit of magic.
      Secrets, well, I agree there.

  11. #2: Nope. Well, some humans yes, but I don't think enough to turn the tide. Human nature remains the same--we ARE animals, after all. We like to think we're superior, but that's just ego and arrogance.

#3: I read some paranormal fiction, but in a quite limited vein. Nothing with angels, demons or ghosts. And I don't watch anything like that on TV. I can't even watch the OLD "B" vampire movies. Seriously, they creep me out. It's the glowing eyes, I CANNOT bear glowing eyes for some reason, they freak me out.

  13. I can read some, but I can't watch it on tv or in a movie. I did watch the Twilight series, but it was so fake it never occurred to me to be scared.

    1. I never read Twilight, even. I just can't do it. Vampires, zombies, etc. I just can't read or watch it.

  14. The paranormal scares me, but the idea of humanity never "learning better" scared me more.

  18. What a neat concept - a fill-in-the-blank of sorts. I can relate to these. I too, do not participate in the trend of horror or paranormal movies/books. I am also not comfortable with the current zombie craze. I do not understand it.
