LOVE this...is just screams "Wild, Wild West"!!!
It truly is. This place is infamous. The sign says "No Indians Allowed" in English and Lakota. I have seen it in books, but was amazed to be able to see it myself.
How cool is that! Looks like there should be a horse tied up outside. Thanks for linking up!
It was an interesting sight. An elderly Lakota woman watched me take the picture, but I didn't feel it was my place to photograph her, though I wanted to.
I love this!
I am glad that you do. Thanks!
Thanks, Amy. It is definitely part of history.
i love it!
I am glad you like this one, T.
It looks like it has seen better days and now it looks like a bird hangout, lol. Thanks for sharing.Hugs,JB
Actually, there aren't too many things hanging around out there, except the cattle skulls!
Wondering how old this place is....brings back memories of the early days of TV cowboys...
Some say it goes back to the 1800s.
Oh my I love this place. South Dakota has a great amount of them too. We've camped in the Badlands, and yet our first tent collapsed on me (thank goodness for a Walmart nearby) it gets really windy out there! If you ever get the chance to travel the back roads, possibly not with the big rig, there is a bounty of things to behold!
Yes, I agree. We traveled here as newlyweds in 1981. That was our 3 month trip in an old van. It was very memorable!
That is just too cool! We'll be passing through South Dakota next fall so if you don't mind sharing where this is, I'd love to stop and see it.
I LOVE this. I could read about and look at this type of scene and the old west if you will, forever and ever! I was so struck by this I will likely incorporate it into a dream tonight. xo
Oh, the stories that place could tell! Great contribution! Thanks for your visit and kind comment on my RT entry. I imagine you see LOTS of great stuff in your travels with your hubby. :)~Lindy
'No Loans' is a great policy for a store.Nice old photo!Peace :)
Longhorn Saloon! What a fun pic.
Great pic and a perfect prompt for a short story or poem!
this is exactly what I picture when I think of Old Wild West. I bet there are a lot of stories there!
We could imagine a couple of horses tied up out front.
Great photo, I love seeing and reading about places like this. Reminds me of the Dexter Roadhouse outside Nome. Not sure if the natives were welcome however.
Just the name, 'the Badlands' conjures up a picture and this is an amazing photo to go with it! Very wild west.
That is such a cool shot! It's the very picture of "Wild West."
Wow! What a terrific shot. Great flashback!:-)Traci
Great shot. I think I've heard of this Saloon.
Cool! : )
