Update: Chloe Jo

Chloe Jo recuperating at home.

After seeing the vet on Wednesday, Chloe Jo took a turn for the worse that night. On Thursday, things had reached a critical state. She spent the day in the hospital for fluids and thorough testing. Initial tests showed that Chloe Jo had a very large stone in her bladder. Due to her immediate distress, she was taken right into surgery.

All things considered, Chloe Jo came through the surgery pretty well. Due to her chronic breathing issues, she was closely monitored. The stone was successfully removed and sent to the University of Minnesota for definitive analysis. We hope to receive results next week.

Chloe Jo’s blood tests showed that her kidneys values are not where they should be. The kidneys were probably working too hard due to the stone. We will know more about the kidney involvement with further testing.

However, Chloe Jo is home! Her sisters are all very happy to have her home. Grizelda and Chloe Jo have never been apart, so are relieved to be reunited. Grizelda wanted to play right away, but Chloe Jo isn’t up to that yet. Maggie greeted her baby sister with great concern, immediately washing her face. Stella was thrilled to have her best friend back home, and let her know it with a kiss.

Now Chloe Jo is resting, though she is very uncomfortable. Her tummy is sore and she hates the stitches. I fear that this may become a problem, so will be watching that closely. We hope to have the rest of the test results sometime next week. Until then, Chloe Jo just needs to heal and get stronger.

We want to thank everyone for their prayers, love, and support. Chloe Jo really needs this now, and it means a lot to us, too. Please keep her in your prayers. We appreciate it very much. Hugs.

Your description of her being greeted by her siblings was absolutely precious. Who says cats don't understand. All of we can owners know they do understand and have feelings just like we do. 28. What an ordeal! And it must indeed be uncomfortable for Chloe Jo. That must have been some stone, and no doubt her kidneys were working too hard because of it. I hope things will become more normal in the next little while. It's good to read that her family was so solicitous of her. It's good to have people and animals who care for one. Continued good luck to Chloe Jo.
