Snow Globe

Sunset ignites snow,
candlelight in Winter’s heart.
Calm before the storm.

Moon glimmers on snow,
teasing both light and shadows.
Remembering warmth.

  1. Your pair reads nice, Mrs. Mac. I teetered between being in a real, outside, snowstorm and being inside your globe. Pretty too. Our grand-daughter HAD a snow globe collection. All of us traveling would bring her ones from where we traveled. Now she is 17, graduating, and is looking at colleges. A bunch want her.

  2. The snow globe and your haiku are beautiful. It's amazing so much can be expressed in a small number of words.

ever notice how "quiet" it is in the evening during a snowfall !!

    flakes fall quietly
a smell of pine fills the air
    all is hushed for now

  11. Luckily where I live in Australia snow is very rare. Mine you years of living in England when central heating was unheard of have given me my fill, except that is as a kid with a toboggan!

  12. Lovely, and even better with theTrout Talkin' Tabbies addition. Snow is very peaceful as long is not a blizzard and all the people and critters are safe and warm. I have never been great at Haiku, and admire all those who are! Sending love and hugs, Janet
