Weather or Not...

We are digging out of nearly 18" of snow,
here in the Great Lakes region of the U.S.

If this guy does not show up,
he may just be snowed in.

~Think Spring!~

  2. Again he delivered the wrong answer! Although every year it seems old man winter does his own thing, regardless. Sorry you got so much snow, I hope you are dug out easily!

  3. Gopher or not, Winter has to run it's course but Spring will come.
I hope that Mother Nature will remember when Spring is supposed to come.

Cold and another storm on the way. A repeat of the other day, I had my foot in a hot bucket of water again this morning and all my water pipes were frozen. sigh...

    Hugs,
    JB

  4. Wellll, I heard it was a bust- 6 more weeks of winter. Poor guy, that's a lot of pressure to put on a gopher! LOL! Have a great week!

  5. ... all i can say is, "We've got snow!" at least the sun came out

  6. 18 inches is a lot of snow. It take a while to get all that off the roads, etc. I remember getting the drive way cleared off when the snow plow would go by and plow it shut again. Keep warm!

  7. We've not had much of a winter here (yet) in the Pacific Northwest so we'll just send you some of our early spring. Okay?

  8. Well, the snow is so deep in my driveway from the drifting that for the first time in 15 winters here, I shovelled only a narrow walking path to the door. I can't manage any more than that right now, with my own hip and back issues. Guess it doesn't matter, since I don't have a vehicle! I hope you have someone who can dig you out if you live in a house with a driveway, as opposed to a condo.

    Purrs from the boys.

  9. Thinking all things green and blooming. Down here, the nutria are seeing their shadows left and right, so i guess we will get more winter, but i hope you guys get a break soon!

  11. You got a lot more than we did. No matter what, we get at least 6 more weeks of Winter.

  12. We don't put any weight in the weather predicting ability of a rodent! Though we did get 16 inches of snow yesterday.....

  13. I'm thinking spring but all we are getting is drizzly, overcast skies. Darn that groundhog.

  15. That is a lot of snow McGuffy and you weren't feeling well. Hope you are doing better. We had a dusting of snow this morning that got a bit slick. We have snow coming Wednesday... 1 to 3 inches. They aren't sure yet and don't know when it will start.

  16. No snow here. It did flurry a bit today, but it didn't stick. The temps are really chilly. It's gonna be a bit wicked tonight. I'm tired of winter. Phil isn't a rodent, he's a toad for calling six more weeks of winter. Stay indoors and keep warm. :D

  17. I sure hope he is as accurate as our weather guessers!

  18. I saw on the news tonight that the groundhog in Sun Prairie WI bit the mayor's ear. I think that says it all.

  19. Well, if he doesn't come out, he can't see his shadow! :)

  21. McGuffy,
For sure we are thinking of Spring.
Tonight is a cold night - in the low 20s.
That's very cold for us, folks in the South :)

    Happy Groundhog Day!

    Peace :)

  22. That is the cutest video, but we all want to strangle that darn Phil. No way he could have seen his shadow. We are lucky to not have had much snow so far this year, but it's been plenty cold. Annie, I sure hope you are healing and feeling better. You are in my daily thoughts and prayers. Hugs, Janet

maybe some of your snow will shift my way....

  25. No signs of Spring here at all. But.. I knew that would be the case anyway.

  26. I have found here in the south that if we get a decent (for us) amount of snow at some point during the winter, we get an earlier spring. If we just have a winter where the temps and weather patterns are mostly consistent, that sort of winter lingers well into May. Poor groundhog! Always gets the blame!

  27. We are having some very pleasant weather for February...but it seems I remember Alabama has in the past had February weather in the 60's. I'm thankful anytime I can get it! The snow is beautiful, but I sure wouldn't want to live with it every winter. Poor little rodent.
