Minion Moments

The Minions are growing by the minute. They are two-and-a-half weeks old, now. We have been busy establishing a schedule for their health needs. It is simple but very necessary for their well-being.

They are kept in a crate with a heating pad. About every three hours they are bottle fed kitten "milk replacer". The kittens are so young that Mom (that would be "me", now) has to help them eliminate (go potty) and then clean them up. After that, they are worn out from crying, eating, and eliminating. So they all pile-up and drift off to Dreamland...until it is time to do it all over again.

The minions do have names, now. Louis (Armstrong) and Riley (BB King) love to sing, so are named after two of my very favourites. George (Thorogood), though not "Bad to the Bone", does do things his own way. Bindi is the only "little girl", and that is what her name means.

Louis

Riley

 George

Bindi

I will post updates and pictures as I can, but please be patient. The minions are not very impressed with cameras. They much prefer bottles. Right now, it is all about keeping them happy (and healthy).

  1. Such precious little babies. You write about their care so matter-of-factly, but feeding every 3 hours would be absolutely exhausting. Lots of hugs and purrs all round, to you and to them!

    1. It truly feels like an honour to do this for them. It is a small sacrifice. Bill will tell you, though, that I do put everything I have into it. ❤

    1. They are precious. I see personalities already, too. Louis and Riley crack me up. They are very vocal! George has a very cool attitude. Bill named him. Bindi is indeed named for Steve Irwin's "little girl". She was named for her dad's favourite female croc!

Me - I am enjoying my coffee to go these days in a fabulous new To Go travel mug that some precious kind soul gifted me. It's so nice that I can think of her... and offer up travel mercy prayers of my own for her man whenever I drink from it. Thank you sweet friend! the kids howled with laughter at the card. :)

  13. I've done this before and feeding every two to three hours when they are tiny is exhausting work. Mine didn't live as it was constipated and I spent over $100. at the vet . God bless you for doing this. I wish you lived closer.
    Hugs.

  15. So sweet. Post when you can...I know it can be difficult to photograph when things are hectic and the energy level is sapped. I'm willing to bet that George will be the easiest one to care for if he's anything like my George.
