Blue Moon

Two full moons within a calendar month is a rare
occurrence, with the second called "a blue moon".
This won't happen again until 2018,
when we will have two blue moons.

Of course, there is also...
"Blue Moon", by The Marcels
Here's hoping you are able to enjoy tonight's
full "blue" moon with your special sweetie.

Hide & Seek

The minions like to play hide and seek.

They like to sneak up and then "find" each other.

Tag! You're it! Okay...c' turn.

Swimming Lessons

Louis likes to go swimming.

Of course, swimming does work up a thirst.

Water is very satisfying.

Everyone wants attention.
& George.
Attention spans are very short.
But, George will wait it out.
He knows he will get what he wants.

There is so much to learn. It is all amazing...

...and so very exhausting.

Fill-In Fun #223 + Me

I have followed Hilary and Feeling Beachie since I began blogging, over four years ago. Her Friday Four Fill-In Fun has always been one of my favourite memes. I like the challenge and the exchange of thoughts.

Each week Hilary posts four statements with blanks that you fill in. Then just link up to her blog for sharing. Hilary is always looking for co-hosts and more statements for us to fill in. Please visit her, and let her know your suggestions!

This week’s co-host is…ME!  Please join us!

The statements & My Answers: #223:

1. I love the honesty that is found in animals. They are always genuine in both thought and action. I appreciate and respect that. I wish humans were that way.

2. Politics isn’t my favourite topic of discussion. Enough said.

3. I always cry when I am extremely upset or angry. Cruelty, injustice, or outright meanness will do it for me. I rarely cry in front of others, though. The human-animal connection makes me cry. The human-human connection does too, but for different reasons. I don’t think I have a thin skin so much as a soft heart.

4. I used to hold my feelings in, but I am learning that in doing so, I do more harm than good. Feelings are important threads that form connections and bonds to others. If we are respectful and honest, we should be able to share our feelings.

A Box of Minions

After their lunch and clean up, the kittens are ready for a nap.
Right, minions? Aww...they are so cute! Wait a minute...

...umm...where is George? Uh-oh...yes, he was in there!
George was the one at the bottom of the kitten pile.
Don't worry, though. Mom saved him.

George, a.k.a. "Mr. Nice Guy".

Cobblestone and asphalt compete
with cracked, dirty city street.
The train rumbles overhead,
while yawning passengers yearn for their bed.
From suburbs to city, the daily commute;
some dressed down while some in suit.
Days into years the same several miles,
the same tired faces void of same smiles.

Mealtime with Minions

We have been very busy raising minions.
They have been very busy raising a ruckus!
Food is a great motivator with kittens.
Healthy kittens love to eat. It is comforting,
loving, and very fulfilling to them as babies.
As they grow, they will let you know when
they are ready to wean. They chew on the nipple,
your hand, and each other. They have no patience
for the bottle, as it is no longer satisfying for them.
They want food. Real food!
So, that is what we have been working on.

Bindi is a lady, so she tries to be neat and genteel.
After her meal, she is ready to be washed up.

Riley would rather fingerpaint, practice writing his name,
and then chow down. He thoroughly enjoys his food.
Consequently, after his meal he needs a bath...
not to mention me and everything else.

George is a neat gentleman, slow and steady. In fact, George
will give his food to his brothers...well, he lets them take it.
Louis is all about food. He chows down and then cleans up!
Ahh, yes...we are getting there, each in their own time.

In Dad's Lap

Bill always cuddles the kittens that we foster.
I believe this is his favourite part of the process.

After they are fed and cleaned, they pile up in Dad's lap.
Of course, Stella is always there, too.

Sleeping is optional.

Wresting is usually mandatory, however.
At one month, this is to be expected.

Bindi is usually the instigator. She is fearless!

She was quite taken with Dad, too.

The only thing cuter than a kitten is a lap full of kittens.

Dad's lap was very busy and full this past week!

Make it Count

Bill is home for a few days.
I may, or may not, be around in
the "blogosphere", while he is home.
We plan to work, have fun, and
take care of the minions. Together.
Please, enjoy your weekend...
and your loved ones!

Fill-In Fun #221

The "Follow Four Fill-In" is hosted by Hilary at Feeling Beachie. This meme is one of the first ones I joined, several years ago. Each week Hilary posts statement with blanks. Our mission, should we choose to accept, is to copy the statement and fill in the blanks on our blogs. Then link up to her blog for sharing. Hilary is always looking for co-hosts and more statements for us to fill in. Please visit her, and let her know your suggestions! This week’s co-host is Ellen of 15andmeowing.

The statements & My Answers: #221:

1. I hate going to the doctor because it is often too complicated.

2. I want more calm and less chaos. It shouldn’t be so hard as we grow older, but the world has made it so for too many.

3. I have re-gifted hugs from many people, for many reasons. I do not regret it, and I will do it again

4. Commitment is the secret to a happy marriage. Commitment is the partnership of love and respect. Life isn’t always rainbows and sunrises. Commitment to each other is what will get you through the storms

First Field Trip

The kittens are three-and-a-half weeks old.
We now have a routine for eating and sleeping.
They are growing and beginning to interact with
each other, as well as notice their surroundings.
So, they went on their first supervised field trip.
Photographing kittens is not an easy task, but
here is a sampling of their amazing adventure.

George tests his shaky little legs on the hard floor.

Bindi would rather see if I have a bottle.
Louis is watching, just in case I do.

George and Bindi get photobombed by Riley,
who is a very curious and busy little guy.

Louis prefers to wait it out. He would rather just eat.

Riley is always on a mission. He loves attention.

The kittens have things to do and places to go;
just give them time and they will get there.
Their adventures are just beginning.

Daddy wore his boots to war;
through jungles he walked,
his feet so sore.
He would send letters
each telling a story;
Mommy would keep them,
proud in his glory.
After the war,
the soldiers came home.
Though Daddy is missing,
he is not alone.
His boots in the corner
are gathering dust,
but they help to keep him
alive for us.
He’s never forgotten,
though he may be gone.
We honour his memory,
as Time marches on.
