Friendly Fill-Ins: Week 12

Welcome to "Friendly Fill-Ins"! You can find the fill-ins here or at 15andmeowing.com each Thursday. The first two fill-ins are provided by my co-host, Ellen. The final two statements are offered by myself. We have posted a link so we can all share the completed fill-ins.

We thank you for joining us each week. Your participation is very important. Sharing with you and getting to know you better through your answers is what it is all about. Please remember to visit everyone on the list. Thank you!

Here are my completed fill-ins for this week:

1. One quirk I have is that I only read one book at a time. I like to totally immerse myself in each book that I read. I think that there are already enough distractions, so I do not want to create more by juggling books! I like to give each one my full attention.

2. My favorite comic strip is Peanuts! Anyone who knows me, knows this is a lifelong love. I have an especially fond attachment to Snoopy. I wanted a dog so badly when I was a kid that I named my pet rescue turtle Snoopy. It did not matter that she was a turtle, or a girl.

 3. I am really happy when my loved ones are safe and happy. Nothing makes me happier than knowing this. It really is that simple.

 4. If I could go anywhere on a road trip, I would go to visit South Dakota’s Badlands and the surrounding area. Bill and I visited that area when we traveled in a van as newlyweds. It would be a great experience to re-visit it, now.

~Happy Weekend!~

Now, it's your turn. Please link up with us here. Or, you can answer in the comments

  1. The Badlands sound like a really cool adventure. I've never been to South Dakota. The farthest I've been up from here is Coffeyville, Kansas. The farthest up from South Carolina was Norfolk, Virginia. I think the Dakotas and Wyoming and those Big Sky states would be awesome to visit. :)

I agree 100% with your answer for #3.

    Have a great weekend, Annie!

  2. I like Snoopy as well. Our oldest daughter wanted a dog so bad when she was younger that she named her younger two siblings Snippy and Sniffy and had them act like dogs.

  3. Snoopy has always been my special favorite, too! Thanks for the fill-ins,

  4. Annie, Snoopy is my favorite cartoon character, too. Knowing those I love makes me happy, as well. I enjoyed reading the way you filled these out and am looking forward latter today to read what others are saying. Have a good weekend, my friend!

  5. I'm the same way about reading one book at a time. The only time I read two is when one is an audio - preferably a different genre than the one I'm reading. I get confused too easily. Have a great weekend!

  9. These are just perfect. I am 100% with you on #1. I always have just one book going at a time. I've had people tell me about the handful of books they have started at one time, and I'm always just wondering how?!? And what a beautiful answer you have to #3. Thank you for hosting this challenge! It always makes Friday even better.

  10. I like your answers. I admit to changing one of the questions just a bit. Although, I have adored Peanuts since I was a little girl, I wanted to add a few more comics I also enjoy. Nothing compares to Peanuts, though. I love your #3. Yes, a road trip to the Badlands would be wonderful!

  11. I love your answers and the cute Peanuts that accompany them. I have always been a Peanuts fan too :) I hope you and Bill get to revisit South Dakota in the near future. I think I have ADD, I have to read 5 books at once, reading a chapter or 2 of each a day which gets very confusing if I am reading 2 memoirs. Have a great weekend. XO

  12. Those were great answers! I really tried, but I couldn't get down to just one quirk MOL!

  13. I tend to read one book at a time as well, that's easier now that I can carry it with me on my phone and tablet wherever I go, and I can have the next book downloaded and waiting! I love Peanuts too! Oops, I left my comment about the Black Hills on your previous post, the Badlands are truly breathtaking!

  17. Oh yes! One book at a time is a must - I'm like you, I totally immerse myself in each one, and sometimes have to wait a couple of days before I start another as I process the previous book. ;)

Snoopy! How could I forget Peanuts?! LOVE them too! :)

We visited the Badlands a couple of years ago when we were moving back to WA from PA - I want to go back and spend a few days there vs. a few hours. ;)

    Have a great weekend! :)

  18. I usually read only one book at a time too. Never could understand how some people could read several at the same time. And I was a HUGE Peanuts fan as a kid...still am! ~The Mom

  19. I totally agree with your first answer. It is such a good habit. I like snoopy as as well. But Dennis is my all time favorite.

  20. My one quirk is I must be a frustrated teacher at heart as I like my I's dotted and my T's crossed. Then there are all the other quirks! I has plenty!

My favorite comic strip is Mutts with Big Nate right behind it and Zits right next to THAT

I am really happy when my loved ones are healthy, and then me..when *I* am.

If I could go anywhere on road trip it would be New Mexico. Read about it in a novel once and my attention and interest were taken immediately and fully re: its environs; it is for the past 20 years I have wanted to do that.

  21. Snoopy is the best!! So many great memories through my life of that comic. And the TV specials too. I realized after I re-read yours, that I typically only read one book at a time too. Unless I am reading something very serious nature, then I might have something a little lighter that I go to for a little mental break. But normally, I don't start until I have finished the current read.

  22. I have loved the Peanuts comic strip and specials for a very long time. Glad to hear we have that in common.
