Friendly Fill-ins: Week 18

Welcome to "Friendly Fill-Ins"! You can find the fill-ins here or at 15andmeowing.com each Thursday. The first two fill-ins are provided by my co-host, Ellen. The final two statements are offered by myself. We have posted a link so we can all share the completed fill-ins.

We thank you for joining us each week. Your participation is very important. Sharing with you and getting to know you better through your answers is what it is all about. Please remember to visit everyone on the list. I know that I will!

Here are my completed fill-ins for this week:

1. I can't wait for the new season of Criminal Minds on television. I have been a fan since the beginning of the series. I think behaviour profiling is not only interesting but also important. Figuring out why someone does something is fascinating. Figuring out the type of person who would do something can prevent crimes, as well as solve them.

2. In my home, little things need to be repaired. There are always routine, maintenance things like fence staining and garage painting. But, we stay on top of actual repairs pretty well! Bill is very handy with tools.

3. I thought I lost a close friend, but looking back, I realized it was never mutual. With age comes maturity; with maturity comes perspective. But I have no regrets. I was the best friend that I could be.

4. Once, I found a beautiful silver and blue pen. I was eighteen. It was a rainy day and I was walking to work. There, in a puddle, was the pen. It was so shiny that I couldn’t resist. I picked it up and put it in my pocket. Later, I cleaned it up and was happy to find that it worked. It became my journal pen…and it still is, 39 years later.

~Here's hoping your work is fun, too!~

Now, it's your turn. Please link up with us here. Or, you can answer in the comments

How cool that you have had that same pen all this time. That is great.

  6. Your answers and illustration clips are awesome! I am so glad Bill has more time at home now to get things done. You are right that sometimes we see a relationship in a different light at time passes, not all are meant to last forever. I know that you are a good friend, so I think the loss is hers. I suspect that you were just meant to find that pen on a rainy day. It made me smile that you have kept it and still use it for your writing. Thank you for great questions for us to answer and share! xoxo

    1. Thanks! There are always, always chores. I think we cross paths for reasons. I do my best to be the best I can be. Not everyone thinks and feels as I do...and that is okay. That pen still looks and works like new! Hugs.

  7. I love your answers and all the cute photos with them, especially the kitty playing in the water. You are a wonderful friend, it is the other person's loss to not appreciate that. I love the pen story, that is so nice that you still use it. Criminal Minds is a good show, I haven't seen them all, but I enjoyed the ones I have. Have a great weekend! XO

    1. Thanks, Ellen. It was a lifetime ago, but you remember the people you cared about. She had some issues that I could not help. I wish her well. I appreciate the ones who stay and care. Hugs.

  11. Annie, I have friendships like the one you speak of it where it's pretty much one sided and all you can do is be the best friend you can to someone like that never expecting the same favor in return. Then, you just go living your life happily with new friends who you do have a good connection with. I love that kitty gif at the end. - so cute! :) Have a good weekend.

  13. Great fill ins! I'm a Criminal Minds fan too. How do you think this season will be without Hotch and Derek? Should be interesting.

  14. Annie, you always have the cutest graphics to go with your fill-ins. The last kitty totally cracked me up. I have lost so many things through the years that were important to me. I hope people have found them and used and enjoyed them as you have that special pen. Sending you lots of love and hugs. You remain in my prayers. 15. Oh yes! I'm looking forward to Criminal Minds return this season, too. I've been watching since the very beginning, so it will be a bit bittersweet with Hotch no longer there. But Prentiss is coming back full time! Woot! :)

I've 'lost' friends I thought were close, too - but hindsight being 20/20, I realized they were never truly a friend at all. A very good friend of mine once told me that in your entire life, you'll be able to count your true friends on one or two hands. :)

I love the story of the pen you found! So very cool you still use it to this day! :)

That dish-washing cat cracks me up! Love all the images you have! :)

  16. How cool you find a pen so long ago that you still use!

  17. Ha - you have the very best kitty pics and gifs! We have a few major projects to finish at our house. Left Brain does all the construction aspects - which he has become quite handy at -- if I can just get him to start! Because I do the finishing touches, so I'm just here... waiting. ha.
I love the show Criminal Minds, but I am soooo torn this year because I am really going to miss both Morgan and Hotch!

  18. I love that little dishwasher! If I could have another cat, it would be him! Love your pen story. We have lots of little things that need repairing just now, but we are not so inclined just now! :D

  19. I have had some heartbreaking revelations of non -friendship through time when I erringly thought I had a friend. I guess we all of us go through this at one time or another. I have learned to not go back and sift through things, words and events or non events because no matter what I may say or think, I cannot know what the other person was thinking...hence I came to the realization that sinceI am not a mind reader I cannot make someone like me. Dang. I guess that is the last childhood trait to leave me...thinking if I think everything is OK...it is. Nope. Turns out sometimes I don't have a clue. :-) . There is a comment that turned into a bloggie. xoxo
