Friendly Fill-ins: Week 19

Welcome to "Friendly Fill-Ins"! You can find the fill-ins here or at each Thursday. The first two fill-ins are provided by my co-host, Ellen. The final two statements are offered by myself. We have posted a link so we can all share the completed fill-ins.

Here are my completed fill-ins for this week:

1. Something healthy I do daily is to drink lots of water; the more the better. Staying hydrated is important for all systems in the body to work correctly. It is good for your skin, too. Water is life.

2. Something unhealthy I do daily is not balancing my meals as well as I should, when Bill is on the road. Sometimes I even skip meals when I am by myself. I am working on that, though.

3. This Summer, Bill and I were able to do some gardening and landscaping together. We grew vegetables, as well as flowers, like we used to do. We also landscaped some new areas around the property line, transplanting several Rose of Sharon along the fence. It really looks quite nice!

4. This Autumn, I hope to get some answers and resolution from Mayo Clinic for my chronic anemia. I am really tired of being tired. I need to get my iron levels up to a normal range and keep them there for many reasons, including having my knees replaced (again). Anemia really affects everything.

  1. I always enjoy reading your wonderful answers. They're always so profound and genuine. I used to be very guilty of drinking far too little water, but over the past couple of years I have started to make sure I drink lots of it throughout the day. It's great that you're able to admit that you want to and are working on eating a balanced meal plan throughout the day. Your garden sounds absolutely gorgeous! And, I truly hope that you get some answers to your anemia. That really is such a draining, fatiguing disease to live with, and I am sending lots of prayers your way in hopes that you not only feel better but also get those answers!

  3. Anemia is an awful condition. My doctor once insisted on an iron shot. Whatever your doctors decide to do, i hope it works and works well.

  4. I so enjoyed the answers AND the photos that went with them. I will definitely remember to space the cats farther apart!

    For me:
    1. something healthy I do each day tis walk/workout.
    2. Something unhealthy also has to do with food. My diet is so unbalanced it alarms even me.
    3. This summer was the hottest most humid ever and I didn;t get to walk much.
    4. This Autumn I hope to be out each day. I love seeing the glories that are out there for us each and all.

  5. I hope you start feeling better soon and get some answers.

  8. I drink a lot of water too, I always have a bottle with me 24/7. I do healthy breakfast, but my lunches can be kind of hit and miss when I am home alone. We can work on that together! I am so glad you and Bill were able to work outside this year and enjoy more time together. I hope they get that anemia figured out too, it is no fun to feel exhausted all the time, and we want you to be able to get your knees done so you can get around more easily. Lots of prayers for those things! <3

  9. That's one thing I really need to do - make sure I drink more water every day. I'm a slacker! :)

    OMG! I do that too! End up skipping meals when schedules are whackadoo - breakfast is the biggest skippee of them all. My doc chastised me about that...heh!

    Sounds like you had a very productive summer - the hubby and I want to add a garden in our backyard next year. I should probably plan now to make sure it's done! :)

    I hope you get your anemia figured out - especially with the need for a knee replacement. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers!

  11. Annie, good answers! I drink plenty of water every day, too. I usually don't eat lunch, but I'll grab a handful of peanuts or a spoonful of peanut butter to keep my energy up. I hope you can find out what's causing your anemia problems. Being tired all the time isn't fun. I remember when I was so sick three years ago. The infections my body was trying to fight caused me to become quite anemic. I didn't have enough energy to lift my own body up. All I did was sleep. I'm so glad that's behind me. Saying prayers for resolution and treatments to make you well again, my friend. Thanks for hosting!

  12. What a precious baby yawning. I agree that proper hydration is important. Here in Gulf Coast Texas, the tap water is so bad we can only drink bottled water. When we lived back in civilization, we could drink tap water and love it. Now, I sit with a case of water behind my chair, in easy reach. Suzanne tries to drink it, but water just does not work for her.

  13. I am sorry that you're dealing with anemia. I've been there. My number was 7. That is the lowest that was measured at the ER (in 2010), but I had to get better to feel like going to the ER. I don't know how low it actually got. I hope that you are able to get this worked out and feel better very soon. Anemia is scary and being tired and weak all the time is the pits. You're in my prayers.

    Your kitty photos are always so cute and sweet. I especially love the little kitty yawning at the end. So precious.

  14. I hope you're able to get some answers too. And I completely agree about the water; I know for a fact that I don't drink enough.

  15. I am not at my best when it comes to a healthy diet, I either feast or starve. Hope your health issues are resolved soon. It is the pits to have chronic health issues!

  16. Hope you get some answers on your anemia. My diet is up and down, sometimes I'm healthy and other times I am not.

  17. Annie, #2 is one of my downfalls as well. When Tom is away, often the best I can do is cereal. As always, your memes are so purrfect and how fun that George was in one. I hate that you cannot get the anemia under control. I too am tired of being tired but for totally other medical reasons. I wish Tom would help me with gardening. He mows the lawn and that is it!
