Friendly Fill-Ins: Week 21

Welcome to "Friendly Fill-Ins"! You can find the fill-ins here or at each Thursday. The first two fill-ins are provided by my co-host, Ellen. The final two statements are offered by myself. We have posted a link so we can all share the completed fill-ins.

We thank you for joining us each week. Your participation is very important. Sharing with you and getting to know you better through your answers is what it is all about. Please remember to visit everyone on the list. Thank you!

Here are my completed fill-ins for this week:

1. Put a Little Love in Your Heart. Considering all that is going on around me, this is my honest thought.

2. My favorite magazine is one that educates me, inspires me, and gives me hope. I don’t read any magazine regularly, but when I do, it draws me in one of these ways

3. Recently, I came across a packet of my writing. It is all bits and pieces of unfinished poetry, along with some poems that are rough drafts. Several years ago, I lost a couple of volumes of poetry that spanned many years of my life. Autumn is always a time of personal reflection for me, so finding this packet of poetry is a special gift.

 4. Even though the world is consumed with “rights”, believe it all comes down to respect and treating others as you want to be treated. I believe it really is that simple.

It's about sharing. You just give what you have to give
wherever you go, and you let God handle the rest.
~Lindsay Wagner

Enjoy tonight's Black Moon!

Now, it's your turn. Please link up with us here. Or, you can answer in the comments

  1. Your photos are great again this week, Annie. I especially love the kitty that is chill'axing with the magazine and the one of the kitty and puppy nuzzling each other. So sweet.

I am glad that you found a packet of your poetry! I have files and files and notebooks of poems and poem starts, too, along with some historic fiction novel starts and one serial killer novel-in-the-making. I have no thoughts that these novels will ever be finished. I just don't have that level of writing in me anymore.

Are you going to pursue finishing the unfinished ones? Sometimes I find that I have one path in mind for a poem, but after awhile of sitting, it decides that it wants to go another way.

I agree. This world would be a much better place if we would be kinder to each other.

    Have a blessed weekend!

  2. I enjoyed your answers. Yes, having love in our hearts and treating others as we want to be treated—it’s the way to live. That is so great that you found your poetry! I still have some of the writing I did as a child.

  3. Love and giving are the answers to so many of the troubles of life. Happy Friday!

  4. Great answers for filling in.....we too wish the Love Fairy would sprinkle her dust all over the world so everyone would be happy and at PEACE. We just love all the graphics you posted too!

    Hugs, sammy

  5. What perfect, profound answers, Annie! I wish we could spread the message of your answers for #1 and #4 for the whole world to see and hear. And I am so glad that you found your lost poetry packet! Thank you for hosting this great challenge! We always immensely enjoy it.

  6. Excellent answers. We sure wish there was more love in the world too.

    The Florida Furkids

  7. You always have such unique and wonderful answers. Number 4 is especially good, the world was be so much better.I am glad you found some of your writing, I wish you could recover all that you lost. Have a nice weekend. XO

  8. Excellent answers as always. I especially love your answer for #4. Perfect! Love the cat reading the magazine. Have a great weekend!

  9. Amen to #1. Be kind - it really is that simple!

I think my favorite magazine, Guideposts, fits in with your guidelines on #2. :-)

I can imagine how happy you were to find your packet of poetry. Last year I found some very old blog posts that I thought were lost forever, I need to get them printed out!

    4. I am weary of rights, rights, rights with no talk of responsibilities and repercussions! You are correct that following the Golden Rule would solve all of these issues!

I love the photos and videos you add in to illustrate your thoughts. It makes me smile! :-)

Great questions and great answers, thanks to both of you for this fun meme each week, I really look forward to it!

  10. I enjoyed the photos, especially the cat snuggling up to the dog. We no longer have dogs (RIP), but we do have a grandpuppy who visits and Tuppence our 16 year old cat is just fine around the dog. As for #1, I totally agree with you. "'And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” I think it all boils down to that. Hope you have a good weekend. - Judy

  11. Thise were terrific answers and fun reading!

  12. Your second photo and the last photo are my favorites, but they are all purr-fect cat photos!

  13. Annie, you always have the best completions and photos. I have always felt exactly the same way as your #4. It is not just about rights anymore but about entitlement. It drives me crazy how younger generations think they are entitled to have everything they want immediately. And when did respect for all peoples disappear. So sad. I love the song you shared and the accompanying video was perfect. What a great find of the poems. I wish I had my journals from high school, but I have no idea where they might have ended up. Please have a terrific weekend. We are having torrential rains and thunder. Love and hugs and prayers, Janet

  15. How wonderful to find some lost writings. Hope we get to read some of them. Great picture of the cat reading a magazine.

  16. Great answers. I am not too sure about the cat with the raccoon. I would be worried about rabies.

  17. Ha - I can just hear that kitty tho "put it back" and the racoon is all "So sorry." ha.
How awesome that you found that poetry... that happened a couple of years ago with me too. It was horrid poetry - such teen angst!! LOL But it was still pretty cool to discover it again.

  18. Great fill in responses. We so agree with #1. The world could use a lot of love right now.

  19. I'm so sorry you lost some writings but found more. These are excellent answers, all. Best wishes!
