Aye, Aye, Skipper

Among my favourite butterflies are Skippers.

This Silver-Spotted Skipper was as curious
about me as I was about him.

He actually seemed to watch me watch him.

His favourite place to dine was my last Zinnia,

then he was off to enjoy the last of Autumn's warmth.

  1. Ooh, Annie. I do think he was looking at you. Can you imagine, it was above 80 degrees today and will be for at least three more days. I don't want cold weather, but this is too much. You have had some really beautiful nature photos this summer and fall. I really enjoy them. Sending love and hugs, Janet

    1. They are often mistaken for moths. There are many varieties of Skippers, too.

    1. I think so, too. I love to watch them feats on the flowers. They are delicate!

  5. Isn't he lovely. How can you tell he's a butterfly and not a moth of some sort? (I must Google!) The last shot is especially terrific!

    1. My curiosity is endless. I want to know everything about nature and the world around me. The real things, especially the creatures that I share it with. So, I look them up, identify them, and learn about their place in the world!
