Friendly Fill-Ins: Week 23

Welcome to "Friendly Fill-Ins"! You can find the fill-in statements here or at  15andmeowing.com each Thursday. The first two fill-ins are provided by my friend and co-host, Ellen. The final two statements are suggested by myself. We post a link so that we can all share the completed fill-ins.

We thank you for joining us each week. Your participation is very important. Sharing with you and getting to know you better through your answers is what it is all about. Please remember to visit everyone on the list.

Here are my completed fill-ins for this week:

1. It is good to have a spare container of pet food. However, it crossed my mind to say a roll of toilet paper. When Chloe Jo was a kitten, she was obsessed with unrolling and destroying every roll of toilet paper she encountered. Then, she had so much fun teaching George to do the same. I actually caught them together more than once.

2. I don't understand why zombies are so popular. I just do not, for the life of me (literally), understand the attraction to anything like that. I am not a fan of horror, but this one is beyond me. For me, it is not about fear. It is about not wanting things of a negative nature in my life. Life is difficult and scary enough. Just sayin'

3. The spookiest thing that ever happened to me was admitting the intuitive feelings that I often get about situations, people, or places. When I do, I am inevitably correct. I keep these things to myself (or a select few) more often than not. However, if I feel it is a dangerous or important situation, I will voice my thoughts and concerns.

4. My favourite Halloween tale is “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” or “Young Frankenstein”. As I said, I am not a fan of the horror genre…at all.

~Choose your scary fun wisely this Halloween!~

  4. MOL...We can relate to the first fill-in. It is so true and the look on mom's face. Of course, we don't do that anymore. The cartoons are so cute.

  5. That's hilarious about the toilet paper! I don't mind zombie stories so much, but I don't understand why there are so dang many of them. I watch Young Frankenstein every year at Halloween. So funny! Purrs...

    1. Too many zombies! I watch Young Frankenstein & The Great Pumpkin. It just would not be the same without them. Hugs.

  6. I don't understand the zombie craze either but it sure is popular. I wish I would have thought of The Great Pumpkin. That is a great and classic Halloween tale! Intuition is a great thing to have, especially if you listen and trust it. Great answers!

  7. Good Morning, Annie!
It is good to have a spare bulb for the nightlight in the bathroom. I love the TP answer but I am obsessed with having plenty of TP and it has to be Cottonelle!
I do not understand why frou-frou coffee is so popular. I am not a coffee drinker so there is that.
The spookiest thing that ever happened to me was running over the parking meter when I took my driver's test.
My favorite Halloween tale is The Great Pumpkin also!
Don't understand the zombie thing either but I don't like horror.
    Thanks Annie!

    1. I stock up on certain things, especially in the Winter. TP is one of them! I like coffee and tea, but it does not have to be frou-frou! Oh, yikes. I am guessing you did not get your license that day. No...I do not like horror. It is not entertainment for me. Life is horrific enough. HUGS!

  8. I love all your answers and the adorable memes you have with them. None of my cats have ever played with toilet paper, I think it is too cute that Chloe Jo taught George to play with it. I am not a fan of zombies or vampires. You are blessed to have that gift of being intuitive, God knew you would use it to do good. And I love The Great Pumpkin too :) Have a wonderful weekend! XO

    1. Yeah, vampires are pretty creepy, too. But, zombies...what the heck?! Thanks, my sweet friend. Have a great weekend.

  9. I truly understand how honest and profound your answers always are. I am with you both on the extra container of pet food as well as the extra roll of toilet paper. You never want to run out of either of those staples, that's for sure. I will admit that I have always, for whatever reason, found some appeal in horror and scary stories. Perhaps it's the thrill of it, but I also completely understand how there can be such a negative and even unhealthy side to this genre. Great answer to #3, and I also love "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown"! Thank you for hosting this, as we always have such fun participating!

  12. Suzanne is very intuitive as well. She often gets feelings of things that "could never happen" then, they do. Call it what you will; intuition, discernment, psychic, she is often right.

There was a point in time where the women from our church would actually hide from her because she often told them they were pregnant before they had any evidence to indicate she was correct.

  13. I can so relate to your answers. My cats have had fun with the toilet paper. They're so funny I can't be mad. Zombies are so not on my radar. Intuitive knowing is a gift although not always understood or wanted. Love the video! Had to link it on my post. Thanks for sharing it.

  14. The little kitty warning us about the zombies is adorable! So sweet. And those eyes on the pumpkin kitty, wow. I wonder what made it make that expression?

There was a point in time that I got "feelings" of a very important nature. I was afraid to share them because I knew people would think that I was nuts. I dawdled on both occasions. Finally, I spoke up. It was too late in the one instance and could have been in the other. No matter how scary it is for me now to speak up, I try to force myself to do so now. Two lives were directly affected, and many indirectly, because of my failure to act on the discernment that Heavenly Father gave me.

The baby messages brought such fun responses that I never had a problem sharing those. Seeing the expression on the ladies' faces as I approached them saying, "I have something to tell you" was funny. One in particular just turned and walked the other way when she saw me coming. :) I love these messages. The other ones are just too upsetting.

I guess this is just one of those things that we are called to do, outside of our comfort zone. We have to trust that He has it all covered, regardless of the response, in spite of some folks' willingness to "murder the messenger", so to speak.

    Have a blessed weekend, Annie!

  15. Yeah for the Great Pumpkin!!! :)
And that cat is literally me if I try watching a horror movie. Now you know I do watch that zombie show, but it's not the zombies that interest me. And I think they are becoming popular because they are rather a metaphor for how we are somewhat "dead walking" through our lives these days. Our Feed Me Feed Me brain mentality is about mass greed consumption of things that are not really important or vital. We basically sleep walk through life in pursuit of such stuff. That's how I see it anyway. Bu I have to look away from the show when any of that actual zombie gross stuff happens. ick.

  16. Sorry, we didn't enter the fill-ins this week. Mom does not understand this zombie stuff either. Cat Scouts had a zombie party, and she just didn't get it. Mom can't believe that you also have intuition about things. She does all the time and it has saved her in some situations. Mom saw that video one other time. It is so cute. She is sending you lots and lots of love, hugs and prayers. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  17. Carlton Cat has written this, so apologies in advance.

It is good to have..... human staff (the Mr and Mrs) who always fulfil their duties as second fiddle to the most important person in the house. ME!

I don't understand why..... the Mr and Mrs eat totally unsuitable food like potatoes and rice. Yuk! Why can't they keep to fillet steak and prawns? (And accidentally drop it in my bowl.)

The spookiest thing that ever happened to me (and in fact happens every year)..... was when the Mr and Mrs opened the door to a collection of ghosts, zombies, mummies and ogres. As if that wasn't bad enough, THEY GAVE THEM SWEETS. Go figure.

My favourite Halloween tale..... is one the Mr tells me as he rubs my belly. When I attack he yells: "For goodness sake, Carlton, you're worse than Dracula!" who is, I have since discovered, an evil blood-sucker. I would like it known that I might draw blood but I CATegorically do not drink it.

    That's Purrfect

  18. Love your fill in answers. We agree about the toilet paper. Ernie has an obsession with toilet paper and paper towels.

  19. Living twenty miles from town, I definitely agree on the wisdom of having extra tp and kitty food, necessities for sure! ;-) I think the whole zombie mania thing is just plain dumb, life has enough real things to worry about rather than generating doomsday paranoia! Intuition is an important gift and if we are wise we don't ignore it. We are given those feelings and awareness's for a reason! I couldn't think of Halloween story that I liked. I wish I would have remembered The Great Pumpkin... a classic annual favorite that I never get too old for! :-)
