Friendly Fill-ins: Week 26

Welcome to "Friendly Fill-Ins"! You can find the fill-ins here or at 15andmeowing.com each Thursday. The first two fill-ins are provided by my co-host, Ellen. The final two statements are offered by myself. We have posted a link so we can all share the completed fill-ins.

We thank you for joining us each week. Your participation is very important. Sharing with you and getting to know you better through your answers is what it is all about. Please remember to visit everyone on the list. Thank you!

Here are my completed fill-ins for this week:

1. Peace is within each of us. It does no good if not extended to another, though. One of my favourite parts of Mass each week is when we offer each other the sign of peace and say, “Peace be with you.”

                                                                  Prayer of St. Francis

2. I need to finish sorting out my books to donate, but I keep procrastinating. Well, I really am working on it. I have decided to let go of books that I will probably not use again. I want others to enjoy them, too!

3. A friend is someone who does not judge you, but knows what is in your heart, walks beside you, and believes in you

4. I really try to focus on the positive rather than fall into negativity. It is easy to count blessings when the going is good. However, we especially need to remember our blessings when it is not so easy to recall them

                                                                                      Louis, George's brother

~May small blessings be joys every day.~

Now, it's your turn. Please link up with us here. Or, you can answer in the comments.

  3. I always love your fill-ins, but these are all extra special. Such profundity and beauty in them. The prayer of St. Francis is one of my absolute favorites. And I love your message about focusing on the positive and counting our blessings. I wish more people realized the importance and power in that. Thank you for hosting this, and for sharing your wonderful answers with us!

  5. I love your answers. I have always enjoyed that part of mass too, I miss the shaking hands part though. Our church has said just to wave now and it isn't quite the same. I have always liked the song sometimes played at the end of mass, "Let Peace Begin with Me".
That is great that you are going to donate books. You could save a few to make pumpkins with :)
You are a wonderful friend. Have a great weekend! XO

  7. You are so right about counting blessings, especially when things are tough. I like the image with #2. I occasionally donate mine to the library or take them to a used bookstore for credit. I like your definition of a friend!

    1. It is important to remember that even though what you have is not ideal, others may have it worse. "There, but by the grace of God, go I." We need to thank Him for what we so have. I make sure, every day, to remember that. I try to not complain, too.
True friends are special blessings. Thanks for being part of this meme. Peace, my friend.

  8. Annie, focusing on the positive stuff is always best instead of the negative junk. We're more blessed than we realize until we push the junk aside and take note. It's then you're humbled by your silliness and grateful for what you've been given. Good answer! Thanks for hosting the Friday fun!

  12. Peace is a choice like anything else, and it baffles me that it's not the one choice many will make!
Ten stories up - bbbwwwaaaahhh!!! I love that one. I always have a hard time letting certain books go too. I struggle between wanting a great home library, but also thinking that good stories are meant to be shared.

    1. I won't argue, anymore. I just won't do it. If I cannot get someone to listen, without telling me what I think, then I am done; I withdraw. I do not want to do argue.
You do share your stories...and I am thankful. Peace & Hugs.

  13. I need to do some book sorting myself. There are boxes and boxes of books here, some regular books, some that were given to us for homeschooling that we no longer need. It will take forever. :) Good luck with yours!

I enjoyed your answers. All the kitties are adorable. :) Have a blessed day!

  21. I am proud to call you my friend and sister. And I have to totally agree with your #4. Every day I count my blessings. I do feel that even with the health issues that I have truly had a blessed life. Louis, George's brother is so precious. All the memes are perfect as well. Sleep well, my friend, and have a good weekend. Love and hugs, Janet

  23. Hi Annie. Can't sleep tonight and I think Fill-ins will be a good thing to do right now.
You are so right about peace being within us. I am working on finding that peace and not letting the things or people around me take my peace away.
I need to get back to my heart healthy walks but I keep procrastinating.
A friend is a gift that can come from out of nowhere and give you the boost you need to move on or move forward... :)
I am going to try to find the old me. The me that was comfortable like an old pair of boots!
I know these fill-ins are all me, me, me... but I need to work on me :)
Love your #4 Annie and the picture and caption under it!

  24. Peace is the feeling I have nights with the stars shining bright through my window laying on my back in bed with my warm blanket over me and a couple of cats snuggled against me, purring.

I need to clean the litter boxes again!

A friend is someone I can be me around and she or he can be themselves too. And we laugh a lot!

I try to keep up on the chores here, because if I don't go to bed with unwashed dishes, I don't have to wash them in the morning.

  25. I guess it is a bit late to join now, as once again I forgot about the 4fill ins - what kind of friend am I?! Blogging for peace is a wonderful thing, I hadn't heard of it before, so maybe next year. I love all your kitty pictures and the quotes, most especially the one about friends. I like it very much.
Although I probably should favor the one about perspective, right?! :) It is also very true and good.
