The Latte

For several months, Noelle had been watching the ragged old man panhandle outside her coffee shop. Now, with the gales of November blowing, the old man was obviously miserable.

Warm-hearted, Noelle decided to brew him up a beautiful latte. Taking it outside to him, she said, “Sir, you look like you could use a nice, warm latte!”

The old man smiled a toothless grin and remarked, “I don’t know what a latte is, but I sure appreciate this cup of hot coffee, ma’am!”

  1. That was a sweet story. Maybe it will inspire us all to get a cup of coffee ( or latte) for a homeless person. XO

  4. If only Noelle hadn't waited months to make her offering. I always appreciate your short "shorts." I wish I could produce something so heartfelt in so few words. How are things going? How's Chloe Jo? Is George zooming yet? Sending you lots of love and hugs my friend, Janet

  7. Coffee by any name is appreciated in the cold. Surely more than appreciated by the homeless. Sweet story with a nudge to be generous and kind. Thanks for sharing with In Other Words.
