Chloe Jo is Special

After waiting for a week, we were finally able to get results of Chloe Jo's tests. Her kidney values were elevated, so we will continue to monitor that situation. That tends to be made worse by the fact that she is easily stressed. Her kidney issues and respiratory issues will be a lifelong struggle for her.

Lately, she had begun having new symptoms and issues with the pads on her feet. So, a skin biopsy was done on multiple feet. The test results call this new problem "cutaneous horns". Our vets confirmed that Chloe Jo's immune system over-reacts to itself as well as to stress. The "cutaneous horns" are relatively rare and will need to be monitored along with her other health issues. They can grow back and even lead to other problems. We will continue to keep her healthy, though.

For now, we are happy to have Chloe Jo home, recovered from this recent ordeal, and feeling more herself. We always knew she is special...and she really is!

    1. Chloe Jo's vet say it is rare, but typical of her system. It can be a sign of FeLV or FIV. She should be free of those. But, she will be watched for this, too. She has good vets.

  9. Tell Chloe Jo, my sweet little girl I love..that my oldest son had several cutaneous horns. One 1/4th of an inch long on his forefinger knuckle, and one the same length at the back at the hairline on his forehead For him, they froze them off. In humans it's not scary. I pray that it won't be for precious beautiful Chloe Jo either. XXX to you sweet girl.

  17. Dear Annie and Chloe Jo, you are in our thoughts, prayers and hearts. I'd never heard of cutaneous horns and had to Google. What strange and unusual things. We see humans can get this condition as well. We sure hope you can keep Chloe Jo's stress level under control. We feel so badly that she has to go through all these health issues. Annie, I know that puts stress that you don't need on you as well. If there is anything at all I can do, please let me know. You are always in my prayers as is Chloe Jo, and I will step those up. Sending lots of love, Janet
