Friendly Fill-ins: Week 31

Welcome to "Friendly Fill-Ins"! You can find the fill-ins here or at 15andmeowing.com each Thursday. The first two fill-ins are provided by my co-host, Ellen. The final two statements are offered by myself. We have posted a link so we can all share the completed fill-ins.

We thank you for joining us each week. Your participation is very important. Sharing with you and getting to know you better through your answers is what it is all about. Please remember to visit everyone on the list. Thank you!

Here are my completed fill-ins for this week:

1. I love the following Christmas films: A Charlie Brown Christmas, A Christmas Story, The Santa Clause, A Christmas Vacation, Elf, and The Gift of Love. There are others that I like, but these all come to mind right away.

2. I don't care for the following Christmas films: anything that is in bad taste or horror related. I just feel that Christmas is a time for simple goodness. It should be kept free of negativity and bad things. Christmas movies should be meaningful and/or fun.

3. At the holidays, I cannot resist trying to spread cheer. People get so stressed out by the material expectations of the holidays. I try to stay focused on the love and joy.

4. A favourite holiday memory of mine is Christmas eve when I was three years old. I was very excited and having trouble getting to sleep. Suddenly, Santa tapped on my window! I wrote the story, Sugar Plum, about this event! It is linked here and on my "Stories" page.

~May your holidays be filled with fun & merriment!~

Now, it's your turn. Please link up with us here. Or, you can answer in the comments

  2. Love your fill-ins today Annie....the graphics are marvelous too. The little white kitten being told to go to bed so Santa come come was just too sweet! It's hard to list favorite Christmas movies because I have about a bazillion of them....I just listed a couple. Here's to a happy holiday for everyone.......

  7. Those are all good Christmas movies. I couldn't think of any I didn't like, but horror ones for Christmas I wouldn't like. I don't think I've seen any of those though. Have a great weekend!

  8. My nephew is in a school play this week about Charlie Brown's Christmas. :)

Lovely answers....I agree about the material thing about Christmas. Too much....folks seem to get things all year these days. What can you buy them at Christmas?

Love the photo of the cats with the glasses.

    ENJOY your weekend.

  16. Hmmm,I guess I've never paid attention to Christmas movies that are in bad taste or horror-related. I'm not drawn to those types of movies in general, but it would never have occurred to me that there would be a horror Xmas movie.

I remember your Sugar Plum story. It was heatwarming.

  18. You know how much I always love the memes you find. They made me smile. I started out my day okay and got some things accompanied, but now I am in a funk again. I can't get motivated about posting. I was so happy to have fill-ins to do today. Sending lots of love and hugs, Janet

  20. We love the same movies as you, Annie! Elf, A Charlie Brown Christmas and A Christmas Story are all at the top of our list. :)

We sure wish more people tried to spread cheer like you! Lots of folks seem so stressed and rushed this time of year. Sort of sad, isn't it?

    Hugs to you!

  23. As always, your cat pictures are cute. I agree that negativity should be kept out of Christmas. Christmas should be a time of joy and togetherness. Have a great week and a Merry Christmas.

  24. Awww, the little white kitten! Enjoyed your Fill-ins, Annie. I agree with yours words for 2! Enjoy your Saturday, Annie.

  25. Definitely Charlie Brown and Elf at Christmas time!! And no, I don't understand why anyone would make a negative or horror movie for this lovely time of year?? I don't want to be scared at Christmas!! (although, I do love Die Hard.. but that's largely due to Alan Rickman, RIP) Spread cheer - yes!

  26. We love your fill in answers...and your pics are purrfect! A Christmas Story...that's one of the mom's favorite movies too.

  27. Annie, A Charlie Brown Christmas Story is a sweet movie. I always felt so sorry for Charlie Brown for picking that scrawny tree but when everyone showed love decorating that tiny thing it became beautiful. Christmas is about the greatest love given to the world and that's what we need to focus on, instead of the fluffy. I definitely agree with you about scary Christmas movies have no place for a holiday filled with hope and joy. Thanks for hosting the fill-in fun!
