Friendly Fill-ins: Week 76

Thanks for joining us for another week of friendly sharing! As always, you can find the fill-ins here and at 15andmeowing.com each Thursday. On Fridays, we post the link for sharing. The first two fill-ins are always provided by Ellen. The final two statements are offered by myself. You are welcome to answer in the comments, but if you link up, more people can share!

Bill would like to thank everyone for the birthday wishes. It is just nice to have him home on the weekends. The furkids and I are happy whenever Dad is home. He works hard, so it nice to see him relax and have fun. We wish he could have more fun time.

I have finished putting the yard to bed for the year. It was quite a job! Last week it rained, so this week was catch up. I definitely needed to mow. I also had leaves to rake and pine needles to pick up. Finally, I had cut everything down that was finished for the year. Bill will probably burn off the pile of clippings, branches, etc. when he turns the garden this weekend. I need to make sure that the snow blower is in good working order, too. Snow is inevitable as the year winds down.

Thank you to those who have begun participating in Sparks. This positive energy is very inspiring. The Sparks link-up is open each from Monday at 12:00 AM through Friday at 11:59 PM. Everyone is welcome. Let's share words of encouragement, hope, and goodness. We really are the lights of the world, each and every one of us.

The fill-ins were thought-provoking for me. Here are my completed statements.

1. If I was a ghost, I would haunt no one. I would haunt nothing. I would be too busy reuniting with loved ones on The Other Side, both flesh and fur!

2. I always cry when I am really sad or upset. I used to see crying as a weakness in myself. I had to be strong; tears were unacceptable. With age comes wisdom. I now allow myself the release that comes through tears.

3. My favourite scary story is The Tell-Tale Heart, by Edgar Allen Poe. It was required reading in my seventh grade English class. This was the first Poe story that I ever read, and I was impressed with the simple terror of this story. Poe was quite brilliant. He remains one of my favourite authors of dark literature.

4. I will be so glad when I have completed downsizing my “stuff” to a bare minimum. This has been a work in progress for a couple of years. It is stressful and time-consuming. But, finally, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!

It's the perfect time for magical stories!

Critical Discovery

                                                                                                source

Jane’s life had been one of severe hardship and deep disappointment. Through the years she was often ill, as her health continued to decline. Eventually, she found herself in the hospital, forced to seek answers.

The top cardiologist on staff was called in to thoroughly examine Jane. It finally all made sense when he explained the discovery of her broken heart.

Friendly Fill-ins: Week 75

Here we are for another week of friendly sharing. You can find the blank fill-ins here and at 15andmeowing.com each Thursday. The link for sharing opens here on Fridays at 12:00 AM. The first two fill-ins are always provided by my friend and co-host, Ellen. The final two statements are offered by myself. Please link up, so more people can share.

Today is Friday the 13th. It is not my favourite day, but I will celebrate Grizelda and Chloe Jo today. They bless my life every day. I hope you find joy today, too.

Autumn seems to be secure, now. We have had rain and some cooler temperatures. The deer are very active in their search for companionship. My flower beds are full of acorns and walnuts, safely buried by the squirrels. The skies are full of Canada Geese, which means other birds have left for their Winter destinations. All is as it should be.

We are celebrating Bill’s birthday this weekend. He works hard and deserves a good one! His job does seem to be working out well. He has a good rapport with his dispatcher and the owner. They seem old-school in work ethic, as is Bill.

The minions have taken over, now. Yes, it was always about them, but now they know it. George is obsessed with them. They all run and play together every waking moment. It is funny, because George is so much taller and longer than Bee and Clyde. Bee does seem to be built long and lean, like George. Clyde is very compact, stocky and solid.

Wishing you and yours a wonderful weekend!

Here are my completed fill-ins for this week:

1. Keep calm and breathe. Research has proven that deep breathing when in stressful situations has many positive effects. It lowers your blood pressure, which immediately relaxes your body, restoring calm. Regular deep breathing can help manage pain, improve circulation, improved lung health, and overall well-being. Of course, petting an animal will lower blood pressure and improve well-being, too. I am working on these techniques!

2. Politics disappoints me. Resistance does not make positive changes. It only promotes bad attitude. If you want changes, then make changes in positive ways. BE the change!

3. Reading is my regular bedtime reward. The dogs go out and then get treats. The cats get their boxes tidied up. Then they get treats. My treat is getting to relax and read, surrounded by happy critters!

4. In retrospect, I am not sure I would change anything, except perhaps my own attitude at a younger age. We cannot change others, but we can change our own attitude. Life is not all about us. We share this world for a reason.

~Hoping it is a happy day!

The Dream

Maggie seemed to be living the dream. She did all of the “right” things, as advised by the commercial experts. Rewarded, she possessed many elaborate creature comforts.

Still, somehow, genuine joy always eluded Maggie. She never realized that she lived through counterfeit dreams.

Gotcha'!

Clyde loves Chloe Jo.

"Hey, Chloe Jo..."

"Chloe Jo...hey!"

"Clyde! Stop it!"

"Now...settle down. "

"Did you hear me? Relax."

Kisses...Hugs...

Clyde, don't poke the bear. It pokes back.

Sparks: 1

Welcome to Sparks. Many years ago, it was my intent to post an inspirational thought each Monday. It would be my weekly meditation, and perhaps feed other people's spirit as well. Life got busy, and this fell by the wayside. Now, I feel a strong need to bring this feature back.

The negative energy in the world has become thick and oppressive. Social media has become a part of this dark, negative storm. There is an obvious universal need for more positive energy and peace. And, we can all be part of this affirmative change.

I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world!

I hope you will join us. Please link up a positive quote, thought, poem, or verse. The badge and code can be found in my sidebar. Add the badge to your post to invite others. The more, the merrier. I welcome your thoughts. Peace.

Now, it's your turn to add Sparks! Let's spread some positive energy.

The Outlaws

Yesterday we shared Wanted posters of the dudes in our town. We were asked why Bonnie was not shown. There is an answer. Surely you have heard of "Miss Kitty" of Gunsmoke fame. Every Old West town had a Saloon Girl like Miss Kitty. She kept the morale up. That is what our Miss Bee does. She keeps things light and easy for us all. She is sweet, loving, and lots of fun.

We were also asked about Clyde's poster. All of our dudes are musically inclined.  Yes, "Clyde plays electric bass, plays it with finesse and grace..."

These two are definitely Outlaws, just not the ones we thought they were. It seems that they may be here to stay, too.
