Friendly Fill-ins: Week 35

Welcome to "Friendly Fill-Ins"! You can find the fill-ins here or at 15andmeowing.com each Thursday. The first two fill-ins are provided by my co-host, Ellen. The final two statements are offered by myself. We have posted a link so we can all share the completed fill-ins.

We thank you for joining us each week. Your participation is very important. Sharing with you and getting to know you better through your answers is what it is all about. Please remember to visit everyone on the list.

Christmas is safely tucked away for another year. The year is not as "new", either. So, I hope to get back into a comfortable routine. Like a cat, I find security in sameness. Thanks for your understanding. *wink*

Okay...here are my completed fill-ins for this week:

1. I have seen several people and bands play in concert. I especially enjoyed seeing Willie Nelson, who is so much fun in concert. However, my very favourite concert was seeing George Thorogood and The Destroyers, Heart, and The Rolling Stones in Boulder, Colorado.

2. I would like to attend a folk or folk/rock concert. There are several that I love, but have not seen “live”. I would enjoy seeing Carole King, Carly Simon, Joan Baez, James Taylor, to name just a few. Of course, I would also like to see Neil Young, Tom Petty, and a few other great rockers. Maybe 2017 will bring one our way.

3. In the dead of Winter, I write in my journal more regularly. It seems my mind is sorting things out more actively, perhaps due to fewer distractions. Often, these reflections become musings or poems. I am hoping that this year will be a creative one.

4. The main ringer on my cell phone is currently the theme for “Criminal Minds”I change it fairly often but have a few favourites. This is my “usual” ringer. I have also used the X-Files theme, as well as various other favourite songs (folk, rock, country, etc.). I always use “Linus and Lucy” (from Peanuts) at Christmastime.

~May your world be filled with great music!~

Now, it's your turn. Please link up with us here. Or, you can answer in the comments

  6. Haven't been to a Rock concert ever and the last play I saw was about 4 years ago by the Gilbert and Sullivan Society. I saw many of their plays over the years.
In winter I stay in more and hook rugs after work.

    Stay warm and safe.
    Hugs, Julia

  9. Annie, I have main ringer for all callers but I have custom ring tones for my kids and DH. For DD#2 I assigned the Xfiles theme and for DH Mission Impossible. lol You'd love the text tone I use for DH, the cartoon wolf whistle. It absolutely cracks me up every time I hear it! Thanks for hosting the Friday fun, my friend!

  10. Great answers, as always. I would love to have seen The Rolling Stones. I hope you do have a creative and productive year. Nice ringtones too. I love the kitty pictures you chose for today, the one with headphones is too cute. And the one wanting his food was funny, I thought he was so poetic at first :) Have a great weekend. XO

  11. I would love to see Carole King, Joan Baez, Carly Simon, and James Taylor, too! Winter does seem like a good time for reflection. I guess the earlier darkness and more time inside invites that.

  12. I love Willie Nelson--my parents used to play his music a lot when I was growing up. Don't know how you can keep track of the ever-changing ringtone! I tend to find one I like and stick with it for years, so I always recognize it as "mine."

  15. Your cat pictures are always cute. Working security ruined concerts for me. I am always watching the crowd and not paying attention to the performer. Have a great week.

  16. I love your taste in music. As usual your cat memes are perfect.

  17. I hope that 2017 will be a very creative year for you, too, Annie. :)

That last kitty looks very much like some cats that we had years ago. So cute.

Have a blessed day and a great weekend.

  19. I have seen....a lake in Oregon so deep, so clear and so mesmerizing blue I dream of rocking again upon her waters in my raft.

I would like to attend.......a gathering of the animals, there to discuss how to deal with the human threat. I would hear from hiding what they would say of us.

In the dead of winter, I stare into the black sky on cold nights, and wonder at the number of stars.

The main ringer on my phone is.....probably muted because I've not heard the thing ring in days.

  20. Oh my gosh, I need that first photo but for the adults who live behind us. I'm dreading spring/summer because they spend a lot of time in their back yard with the music so loud we can hear it in our house with the windows closed!

I love music but can't tolerate loud noise. So, I don't like attending concerts (too loud even with ear plugs), have the ringer on my phone as low as possible, and enjoy the quietness of the dead of winter.

  21. Though I don't care for the cold and rain in winter it is a wonderful season for reflection and rumination. Love the cats!

  22. Hehehe - somehow I didn't take your for the 'X-files' type, I loved that show, totally.
Your answer to #2 sparked that I did see... Donovan and Melanie back in the 80s, long after there heyday they still toured and were incredible!

  23. The XFiles theme is my cell ring tone!! :)
I have been doing a lot more reading lately -- I neglected it for too long. Unfortunately it leaves less time for blogging, but I think I often return with a more creative and refreshed outlook. Which means, yes - I will be back to doing Fill Ins soon! xx

  24. Great fill in responses as always. The mom needs to change her ringtone on her phone...she just uses the boring ones that are already on the phone. X-Files would be cool!

  25. Annie, I hope you will forgive me for not doing fill-ins this week. I really needed to do that book review. And if I had written down all the musical groups and individuals I'd seen in concert it would take a full page. Being a teenager in California in the 60s had its advantages. Of your list, I have seen James Taylor. We are going to see Rick Springfield and Richard Marx in two weeks. I promise to return to fill-ins next week. Sending lots of love and hugs. You are always in my prayers. Janet
