The Cold War

Well, it seems I have definitely lost The Cold War. I thought I had defeated it a couple of weeks ago, when I lost a battle with the sniffles and a sore throat. However, I fought back and recovered fairly quickly.

Mother Nature reminded me who is really in charge, thoughWe have had a record mild Winter. This mild Winter has only allowed the "bugs" to grow stronger, both in force and variety. It seems they are everywhere. And, this time I give up. They won.

I know many of you have also been fighting colds, flus, and "bugs" of various kinds. I wish you all well. They say that misery loves company. So, at least I am in good company. Feel better soon! And, those who are well, may you stay well!

  5. I'm pulling ticks galore off one of my dogs who is obviously a tick magnet. I let her out and when she returns with her rich luxurious coat, there is about four or five ticks. I'm looking forward to a hard freeze.
And I hope you get better soon. I hate those years you get a cold and it drags out. Take care.

  7. M here: Hope you get well soon. Hubby and I had a bout of something for about 5 days, but it's gone now and hopefully won't come back. Mild winter here too, but it isn't good for killing illness bugs!

  9. CH is just getting over that sore throat, screaming headache, and chest congestion thing. He still has the cough and gets tired easily but is surely on the mend. I hope you beat your cold/flu into submission. CH ate lots of ramen noodles... :D Take care Annie, thinking of you. At least you have lots of furry babies to cuddle up with... that will have to help!

  10. Hi Anne,
My unsought advice, along with acetaminophen etc. drink jugful of lukewarm water. At least once in a day, mix honey and a squirt of lemon juice in a glass of water and drink it slowly. It loosens phlegm and takes out the toxins out of the system. You'll feel better soon!!!

  13. I started off with a cold, but that seems to have subsided and all that's left is this completely overwhelming tiredness. Like no energy whatsoever all week long. And yet, terrible sleep. Ugh.

  14. Hmmm, there's a case for freezing cold weather I guess. I've been dealing with my cold for over a week now. I'm to the point I can get out and play again, but there's that nagging cough that lingers on. I'm hoping it will get warmer soon and I can bake it out of me, it's been cold, windy and damp here. But this week it's supposed to get into the low 70's so things are looking up again. Take care. Lots of hot liquids and cat cuddling seem to be the best cure. And chocolate...always chocolate.
