Another Saint

St. Gertrude
Let us also remember to honour a saint who has a feminine touch.  Gertrude was a strong, independent, thinking woman. She is the caretaker of nature, gardening, and cats. She also watches over travelers. It is said she can calm the stormy seas, when she is called upon.
Feast Day: March 17
St. Gertrude of Nivelles shares this feast day with St. Patrick 🍀

  1. This is interesting. I certainly need a patron saint for gardener and cats. I have lots of black cats at the farm and so many gardens to care for from spring to fall.
She share her feast day on the same day as St Patrick.
    Happy St Patrick Day.
    Hugs,
    Julia

  4. I know about St. Gertrude, and we actually honored her once on the blog on 3/17. We should have done so again today. Much love, Janet

  6. I did not know this about St. Gertrude but CH could certainly use some help from her with our flower beds and gardens after the killing frost. Thanks for this post Annie.

  7. It's true that many days have several saints worth remembering. That's why i try to list a couple of them each day.
