Glitches?

I have been blogging for six years. I enjoy sharing my thoughts, writing, pictures, and bits and pieces of my life. I also like reading about you and your lives. Commenting back and forth is an important part of blogging.

In the past week, some bloggers have had problems with commenting situations. I, too, have had a couple of problems. I cannot comment on two blogs. Both bloggers are people that I have a longtime relationship with. I have cared about and shared with them for many years. Suddenly, I cannot leave comments on either blog. They do not know why, nor do I.

I know there have been changes to Internet security. Now, HTTPS is more secure than HTTP, which is now "not secure". This was pushed through on Google in late January.
However, there have been issues with Word Press, too. The issues with Word Press all seem to be comment related, though.

I would like to know if anyone has had any recent problems of any kind on your blog? Are you having problems leaving or getting comments? Do you have thoughts on this? Maybe if we share thoughts and stories we can help each other to resolve any current blogging problems. I don't want you to think you lost me if my comments are not coming through. I would not know unless you told me. My email address is attached to my profile and is on my "Policy" page. I have no intention of quitting blogging. More importantly, I don't want to lose any of you. Thanks...and hugs.

  1. We have had lots of problems commenting on other WordPress blogs, but it seems to be sporadic, sometimes we can and other times not. It is very frustrating!

  3. oye oye my friend, you know that tale. But at least I can be here for now until I figure out my own. :)
Once the kids are back in school on Monday and there are no interruptions, I will get back to sorting it all out.

    1. If we keep trying to fix it and communicating with each other, surely this will get resolved.

  4. I have trouble posting on Blogger blogs but it started when I changed dot wordpress dot com to sweetdaysundertheoaks dot com. I have tried all sorts of work-arounds but I still fairly often have an issue. Wordpress needs an exorcist because I have to check my spam to see if people who have followed me for years have been thrown in the spam bin! This just started about a month ago! Wordpress has to always be messing with what's working and then it doesn't work anymore. Now, having said that... I blogged at Blogger for several years and still have an old blog parked there. I do enjoy blogging with Wordpress... I find it much easier for me to load media and get a post up. I have heard that people from Blogger have a hard time leaving comments on WP blogs and that makes me sad. If anyone is having trouble leaving comments I would like to know... hoping there is something I could do to make it better! Thanks for bringing this up, Annie!

    1. It seems a lot of Word Press issues started a month ago. I comment on some blogs under that umbrella, but keep this Blogger blog.

  6. I haven't had any troubles lately. Once in a while, a comment I make doesn't show up and I have to do it again, but I don't remember if it was a wordpress or blogger blog. I hope things improve so everyone can enjoy the experience. XO

  7. Annie,

From time to time I run into problems leaving comments on Blogger sites. I assumed it was an enter issue with Blogger. I can't recall right off if I've experienced problems with WP. I think every person who blogs needs to have their contact info some place easily visible for visitors to notify the author of such problems I know it annoys me if I don't have a way to reach out to a blogger to warn them. Thankfully those like you I know how to contact. I appreciate you bringing this to my attention and I'm sure others aren't aware of what the scoop is behind these problems. Hopefully things will improve and bloggers will make it easy for others to help when things go screwy. ;) Have a good evening!

  8. I don't have a blog but I read a lot of them. Within the last month I stopped receiving e-mail updates on the "Wag 'N' Woof" blog. Until today I just assumed they hadn't posted for whatever reason, but today they were in the blog survey post on Momma & Bear Kat" The only problem I have had commenting involved "Frimousse" a sweet cat who lives in Switzerland and who joined the Sunday selfies last fall. I contacted his master, who finally uncovered a spam setting that he changed. I had been able to comment before, so I think the setting was reset in wordPress, not by the blogger. He did the reset and that cleared up the issue, but he also let me know that he had heard from others that they couldn't comment either. If this all happened at the same time, WordPress may have changed something. The message I got was that there was a blank Captcha, but there was nothing available (hadn't been and there isn't now) for me to use Captcha or even check that I was not a spammer.

  10. Testing, one, two, three.

I've had some problems when I blogged but there was no pattern. Someone told me they could not comment except with a G mail address. Blogger was blocking them.

  11. I have a word press account to help. Both platforms make it difficult for the other to comment. I hope you get a comment in. It is frustrating. I love your meme.

  12. I haven't had problems with comments, other than when certain people comment on my blog, even though they've commented a zillion times, their comments go to my moderation folder and I have to approve them. But I have had issues with my email notifications going through to some subscribers when I put up a new post. I am on Wordpress.

  16. I haven't had problems leaving comments -luckily. But I've had problems with my posts in Blogger. For some reason, sometimes saving a post doesn't save all the changes I make. It's been frustrating to say the least.

  18. Annie, I haven't had any problems getting your comments, and you have mentioned having trouble with mine. I have had problems with WP off and on and my ASKIMET spam filter, but I never lose any comments. If they don't show up on the post, they are in spam and I can approve them. Don't know if that helps. Sending lots of love to all, Janet
