Friendly Fill-ins: Week 59

We are happy you are here for another week of friendly sharing! As always, you can find the fill-ins here and at 15andmeowing.com each Thursday. On Fridays, we post the linky for sharing. The first two fill-ins are always provided by Ellen. The final two statements are offered by myself. You are welcome to answer in the comments, but if you link up, even more people can share! Please share.

The heat is cranking up quickly, now. Many areas are getting very hot conditions. Please remember to keep your critters cool, as you do your other loved ones. Check their water supplies often, to keep their water bowls clean and filled. Watch for other animals that may be in need of help, too. This includes neighborhood pets, critters in vehicles, and even wild animals that may need assistance.

Last week’s challenges were great! Thank you all. I did take the challenges and followed them as best I could. I smiled, assisted, encouraged, prayed, and truly thought about my every action. I journaled about much of it, too. Some things may be as inspiration for stories. Thank you all for your challenges. I hope we do this periodically. I thoroughly enjoyed this "challenge project". Thanks, Ellen!

As always, be kind, enjoy your loved ones, and take care of You.

Here are my completed fill-ins:

1. A recurring dream I have is about animals who have crossed over. I will occasionally have a dream about one who is gone, though it varies who and when. However, it usually happens around their birthday. That is the closest I have to a recurring dream. However, I do dream often and vividly.

2. Turn negatives into positives. One thing I have learned is that it can always be worse, so appreciate what you have! To complain about things is putting bad energy out there. That only brings everyone down, including yourself.  Maintain a thankful spirit and spread joy.

3. This cough is driving me crazy! I am still struggling to get this cough under control. Thankfully, I have found new doctors and finally, have some hope. I think that they will help me resolve this. I believe.

4. Lately, I have been reading a lot. Okay, I always read a lot, but I seem to have more books that I am excited about lately. It has been too hot to do much during the heat of the day, so I read. I try to get chores and things done in the mornings before the heat settles in. Then, I can reward myself with reading.

~Remember to keep your cool!~

Now, it's your turn. Please link up with us here. Or, you can answer in the comments.

  1. Happy Friday! My favorite blog hop.....and I love your answers as always. Your #2 is something I wish MORE of us could do - I have always been a "turn it into positive" kind of girl - imagine how wonderful it would be if everyone would try to do that. The old "every cloud has a silver lining" thing. As usual your graphics crack me up - that cat following the fan is - well - MESMERIZING! LOL

    Hugs, Pam

    1. Aww...you are sweet. You have a cool challenge each week with your Teaser! Someday I will win...or at least get there on time! *wink*
I am not fond of the Pollyanna way of thinking. I am a Realist. However, part of that is finding the good and focusing on that! There is always good, even if we have to be the one to make it. Then it really is ours to own.

  2. You are right about negative thinking getting a person down, and bringing down the whole energy of an area! Much better to try to be thankful.

You will be in my prayers that the doctors figure out what is causing the cough and can easily cure it.

    1. Thanks, Mimi. This cough is really wearing me down. I have always been able to control the breathing, but for months it has really been an issue. I like the pulmonologist. I hope we figure this out.

  3. I'm glad that you're getting lots of reading done, Annie. I have been more done myself now that we share this computer. There's a good point to most every trial that comes along. :)
I hope you are going to be okay and that you are healed completely.
    Have a blessed weekend.

    2. You're welcome, Annie. You've had hope all along. You have Jesus, remember? :)

    3. I always have faith and hope in God, just not always in people. My last doctor was disappointing. I know God has my back.

  4. You are absolutely right about being thankful! I need to remind myself of that every so often. I have the same problem as the kitty with the books: growing must-read pile, shrinking time!

    1. I know, books can be addictive! At least they are good for us!

  5. Your answers are always so fantastic. I almost put that exact answer for #2, although I still kind of did, only in other words. I always do my best to follow that rule, too, turning negatives into positives. Oftentimes, a situation is only as unfortunate as we allow it to be. I truly hope your #3 gets resolved soon. I've had a cold with a cough for about a week and it's driving me crazy, so I can't imagine you having to put up with your situation for so long. We are sending all sorts of well wishes and prayers your way!

    1. This cough started last fall. I am always so good in controlling it. I cannot figure this out. I look forward to your answers. We are usually similar n our thinking. Hugs.

  6. Love the touched by an angel cat & completely identify with the one whose to be read pile grows while time decreases!
Hope you have a purrfect day!

  8. I love your answers. I am so happy that you have a new doctor and hope you will be feeling better soon. Your answer to #3 is wonderful. I try to avoid the Debbie Downer's. I am glad you are getting more reading done. I look forward to some reviews. I also like all the photos of kitties- the fortress of happiness is too cute. Have a nice weekend. XO

    1. I plan on a review next week, and at least weekly, then. I used to, and I want to get back to that. I have some really good ones to share! Thanks for caring, too. Hugs!

  9. I'm right with you on #2. My answer is very similar. I know someone who always complains about everything in her life, which is amazing, because she has lots of money, great education, great job and everything you can possibly want. There's a lesson in there for sure.

I'm glad you have hope for your cough. I'm so sorry that it's lasting for such a long time.

I love to read and having a pile of books ready to be read is just the best.

    1. I always look forward to your answers. I know people like the woman you mentioned. It is sad. She got upset with me for pointing out good things. *wink* Hugs!

  10. Great answers as usual. I'm a realist too and I try to be positive. One of my motto is "A thankful heart is a happy heart".
Love those cute cat videos and graphics.

  11. I always try to take the same attitude as you expressed in #2, Annie. This is one I like best. Because of my neuro-muscular disease, I have lots of problems, including NO balance. But because of the same disease, I don't have to shave my legs. They haven't had hair on them in more than 20 years. Now that is a real timesaver! Always love your memes, especially that last one. I remember when Misty May and Mauricio were kittens they used to do this in unison with the ceiling fan. Sending lots of love and prayers, Janet

    1. Our Tootsie (a tortie) used to duck when the ceiling fan went around. She lived to be 15, but never got used to it. George loves the fans! He bounces off the bed to get the chains to clink!

  12. Yep, both Suzanne and I are getting more read, which is a good thing. The kitty in the rainbow bucket is cute. Have a great week.

  13. It's rare I dream about my furkids, past and present so it stands out when I do. I hope the new doctor is able to help you with your cough! Take care and have a great weekend!

  14. I like your dreams about the pets who have passed on. Probably you are thinking of them at the time, they pay you a little visit in your dreams. #2 is a good one. We should all try this! Happy Friday, and keep cool! :)

  16. Since I started blogging a couple years ago, I've essentially stopped reading books entirely. I truly miss it. We hope your cough gets resolved soon - nothing's right when you're not feeling good :)

    1. Oh, no...I would not blog rather than not read. Reading has been part of me since I was a toddler! Not read?! Scary.

  17. Our #2's are very similar except you said it better than I did :) I had a continuing cough a few weeks ago and the doctor was sure it was allergies so he gave me some pills and it's gone. I have to stay on the pills for a couple of more months though because he said allergies are still pretty bad right now. I didn't even know I had allergies. I hope your doctor has success getting rid of your cough. Hope you have a great weekend!

    1. I have had this cough since last fall. It is ridiculous and starts up with no rhyme or reason. I am glad you are better!

    2. Has the doctor ruled out allergy? Sure sounds like it. An allergy testing time couldn't hurt.

      Delete
    3. Allergies are nothing new here. When I was in my 20s, I found out about my allergies and asthma. But, they are kept under control. This cough is different. It is more persistent and without triggers. We are thinking it is the Sarcoidosis and/or COPD. We just need to nail it down.

  21. I love these fill ins. They are so interesting and help us all be even more understanding friends.
My recurring dream is school. Don't have the work done...can't find the class room...can't find my books and then I realize I never attended the class yet there is a test! Today!

Turn sadness into gratitude and appreciation. Works every time.

This constant rain is driving me crazy. It interferes with my small allowable exercise program.

Lately I have been concentrating too much on things I have no control over.

Thank you for this enjoyable time each week, you and Ellen.

    1. Oh, good answers. Funny to keep dreaming about that test. I hope that you take it and pass!
      I agree with gratitude. Totally.
Into each life, rain must fall. I hope you can work around it. This, too, shall pass.
Relax, Ma, put your energy into creating something! HUGS!

  22. You are 100% correct with your fill-in #2. A thankful, grateful spirit makes the blessings around us more visible.

I, too, dream of furkids who have passed over. Some of these dreams are so vivid, it's like they physically visited.

    1. Wow. I love your answer. Yes. I can feel my furkids when I dream of them. There are ones who visit more. I think our connection was maybe deeper. HUGS.
