Poppies

I wait patiently for the Poppies to grow tall each year.

When finally they shed their furry cover,

they reveal the elegance inside.

I am dazzled by their beauty.

There is happiness in these blooms.

Spreading joy!

A peaceful "Happy Place"!

  2. Annie,

I love seeing the poppies planted along the interstate in the summer. If I had a large field I'd plant those brightly colored flowers. How long do they stay bloomed?

  4. Beautiful, though I always feel a twinge thinking of opium. We just watched a horrible show on the stupid 'drug war' in America. ~sigh~ Still, they're gorgeous, and I'll focus on that.

  11. I absolutely love these large Chinese poppies. We had them at our old house. I have always wanted to plant them here but never have. Whenever I see these in the yards of others, they too make me smile! The ones here bloomed back in April. Enjoy, dear friend. Sending lots of love, prayers and hugs, Janet

    1. Bill planted these for me many years ago, as I always admired the ones an elderly neighbor had. She is gone, and so are her poppies. Mine live on. I am careful to make sure to spread the seeds as they become ready. I love these special flowers. Hugs!
