My co-host, Ellen of 15andmeowing, and I provide Friendly Fill-In statements each Thursday. On Friday, we post our answers with a link-up for you to join us. We hope you will copy and answer these on your own blog, but remember to link up here! If you need help, please let us know! We look forward to reading your thoughts!
Here are this week's fill-in statements with the blanks:
Week 69: September 1, 2017
1. My favorite fictional character is ____________.
2. A new tv show or film I am looking forward to this Fall is _______ .
As Texas struggles with the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, there is hope. And there are helping hands to bring that hope and make it happen. Here are some who are involved in storm disaster assistance. Please contact them to see what you can do. Prayers for those affected by this natural disaster, and for those who are helping them in its aftermath.
On this special Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day, I would like to call attention to my Rainbow Bridge page. On that very special page, you will find many cats, dogs, reptiles, birds, fish, and rodents. I have listed the furkids that have crossed The Bridge throughout my adult life. They are listed in order of the date of their adoption. Pictures will be added in the near future, as possible.
My first dog was Velvet. She was 15 when she crossed The Bridge. I was 25. She is buried in a formal pet cemetery. As I had engraved on Velvet's headstone, "Love surpasses death". This still rings true. My life has been blessed by so many critters. I believe I am a better person for having had each of them in my life. I remember and honour each and every one of them with love and gratitude...always.
The Rainbow Bridge
'There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. All the animals who have been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. Her bright eyes are intent; her eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly she begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, her legs carrying her faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.'
We are happy you are here for another week of friendly sharing! As always, you can find the fill-ins here and at 15andmeowing.comeach Thursday. On Fridays, we post the link for sharing. The first two fill-ins are always provided by Ellen. The final two statements are offered by myself. You are welcome to answer in the comments, but if you link up: the more the merrier.
Bill is home this week. He starts the new job and route next week. Here at home, he has been busy doing chores. Summer is winding down and we are getting ready for Autumn. He has helped me a lot, too. I still have a weird, chronic cough that is not responding to any usual treatments. I have been seeing new doctors and have had several new tests done. I will get more results, and hopefully, answers for resolution next week.
The minions are really growing fast. They are fun and so very different. Bonnie is perfecting her sassy, diva persona. She is more sensitive and emotional. Clyde is a real cuddly little guy. He is fearless. His “bullet wound” (from the Cuterebra) continues to slowly heal. They are both very sweet and smart little minions.
I hope you are all doing well. Remember, as you are good to others, to be good You, too.
Here are my completed fill-ins:
1. Arguing is a waste of time. Everyone has the right to speak their piece. It often needs to be done for understanding or clarification. Beyond that, one needs to know when to hold their peace. We were given two ears and one mouth for a good reason. Arguing never brings people together; it only tears them apart.
2. My favorite app is whatever I have to use at the moment. I am just happy if things work when I need them to. I use WeatherBug the most, due to fickle, changing weather.
3. My first car was named Grizelda. She was a grizzled old 1971 Chevy Camaro, full of rust and Bondo. But, she was fast and cheap. I had her about six months when her transmission went out. I sold her to buy a 1971 Chevy Nova, that was in perfect condition. I still miss her.
The Original Grizelda
4. The best car I ever owned was a surprise, because I got her new, as a gift from Bill. She is my race red Ford Focus. She's fast, fun, and adorable. She is also economical, safe, and perfect for everything I need to do. I can even fit all of the cats and dogs in there!
~Make it a great weekend!~
