The Cat Tree

The minions love learning new things.

They have learned to use the cat tree.

They appreciate its many purposes.

Climbing, relaxing, napping...it's all good.

But, playing is the best! Right, minions?

Friendly Fill-ins: Week 73

We are happy you are here for another week of friendly sharing! As always, you can find the fill-ins here and at 15andmeowing.com each Thursday. On Fridays, we post the link for sharing. The first two fill-ins are always provided by Ellen. The final two statements are offered by myself. You are welcome to answer in the comments, but if you link up, even more people can share!

I want to first send love and hugs to Ellen, David, and family. I know this has been a sad and emotional week. It was so hard for them to let Phoebe cross The Bridge. As you know, she left footprints on the hearts of all who knew her. Phoebe will be forever loved because of Ellen and  David's love for her. Thank you both for sharing her with us. Hugs to you all.

The first week of Autumn broke records here. It was in the 90s for seven straight days. I would be happy to never be above 60 degrees F. Needless to say, this was miserable for me. We are expecting mid-80s next week, which is well above average for this time of year. I anxiously await cooler Autumn weather!

I am waiting for the results of a sleep study. I was not able to study for it, so I imagine that I failed miserably. Sleep does not come easily to me. Once asleep, I am a very light sleeper. I have always been that way. I still have to see a cardiologist, too. I am thankful for good doctors and medicine. I think that both are blessings. I have hope they can all make sense of things soon.

Clyde will be getting his stitches out next week. He looks so cute in his T-shirt, I almost want him to keep wearing it. I was surprised that he took to wearing it so well. Even changing it for a clean one was not an issue. Clyde is a special little dude. He loves to cuddle and kiss cheeks, but he can be so serious at times. He is an old soul.

I want to take a moment to thank all of you. Life gets busy. We each have many things on our plate, some that we did not ask for. It is difficult to always make time to read and comment on every blog that we want to. And, feeds do not always work, either. We sometimes miss a post or event. We are human and do our best. That we can accept each other anyway, and still come together to share, I think it is very special. I am grateful that we can be there to care about and support each other. Thank you all for being part of my journey. I mean that, from the bottom of my heart. You are appreciated, even when I am scarce. Hugs.

Okay, here we go…these are my completed fill-ins for this week:

1. I am far too practical to be drawn into drama.
Long ago, I had to make a conscious choice to not yield to drama. To my life's experience, there is often no resolution with dramatic people. Some people just thrive on drama, which is their choice. I respect the truth that we each must choose our own path. As for me, I want to put my time and efforts into positive energy.

2. To save money, I plan purchases, especially major purchases. I also look for sales, rebates, and practical reward programs. I use coupons when possible, though they are not as plentiful or easy as they once were. Our needs are very simple and practical.

3. Compassion matters. We each have to forge a path through this world. Often, we don’t really know the paths that others walk. But, it doesn’t matter. If we treat others with the same compassion that we desire, the paths become less difficult for all of us.

4. Watching Summer fade into Autumn makes me think of how fleeting life really is. We need to remember this in all things, every day. We should appreciate each moment just as it is. We need to live and love in each and every moment.

Bee's Obsession

Bee loves toys, and she can be creative with them.

Her current favourite toy is an old door-stop.

She can slide it around the floor really fast...

...or, she can hold it and give it a good kicking!

Joy is in the little things. Right, Bee?

Victor

                                                              source

Victor had been through and seen much in eight decades of living. Though he was now old, he was very proud of his strong constitution.

He knew indisputably that if you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything. Victor would be damned if he would sit silently for something he firmly believed in.

With his hand securely over his heart, Victor stood at attention as the national anthem played.

For Phoebe

It is with a broken heart that we express our deepest sympathy to our dear friends, Ellen and family, at 15andmeowing.com. Phoebe crossed the Rainbow Bridge this morning, leaving her family in deep sadness and tears. Please visit them as we all grieve the loss of the very special Miss Phoebe.

I See You...

Clyde the Capable

In his short ten weeks, Clyde has been through a lot.
He has always been courageous and cooperative...

and, he is undeniably a cute little clown! He's got this.

Clyde likes the carefree fun of being the littlest dude.
He is still learning from big brother dude: George.

Well, that is what we want for you, Clyde. Fun!

Clyde's Recovery

Clyde assisted in the lab, before he went into surgery.
Thankfully, the vet team had his surgery under control!
It went pretty well. Thoroughly debrided and cleaned out,
the wound was surgically closed. He was sent into Recovery.

Clyde swaddled and resting comfortably in Recovery.
He is quite popular with his vet team, whom he loves, too.
Both hospital pictures were taken by our longtime
veterinary technician Nicole, whom we all adore.

Clyde continues to rest comfortably at home.
He is on an antibiotic and will have stitches for 10-14 days.
He will continue wearing T-shirts to keep them securely in place.

Clyde finds comfort with Stella, who is happy to offer it.
She will keep him safe and secure. Love does that.

*I will be catching up on visits on Monday.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.
Take care of your loved ones and also of You.*

Friendly Fill-ins: Week 72

We are happy you are here for another week of friendly sharing! As always, you can find the fill-ins here and at 15andmeowing.com each Thursday. On Fridays, we post the link for sharing. The first two fill-ins are always provided by Ellen. The final two statements are offered by myself. You are welcome to answer in the comments, but if you link up, even more people can share!

The minions are nine weeks old. They are still with us, as I have not found the right home, yet. I really like working with groups, because they do the placement. It is emotionally difficult for me to do placements. I would rather do the feeding, teaching, and be nurturing. They are very smart, funny little minions.

In the meantime, it has been a rough week. I did not get around to visit and comment. In fact, I missed some things entirely. But, I had a reason for my absence. Clyde spent a lot of time at the vet this week for his (Cuterebra) wound. It refuses to heal. So, today Clyde is having surgery. The vet will be debriding the wound, removing all dead tissue, and surgically closing the area. Like all of us, Clyde is ready for this to be over.

Bonnie B. (Bee) is doing well, too. This week, I did a Wordless Wednesday series of pictures of George and Bee. The love is very mutual there. I wanted to share it as I witnessed it. No words were needed.

As Summer ends and Autumn begins, we are setting records with heat and humidity. This is not my kind of weather. It has been in the 90s for a few days, with a few more days of this in the forecast. We really could use some rain, too.

My weekend will be offline, out of necessity. I hope yours will be great, no matter what you do. As Granny always said, "Be good to You."

Here are my completed fill-ins for this week:

1. I would never be friends with someone who is mean to others, human or critter. There is just no acceptable reason to be mean, in any way, shape, or form. Ever.

2. I will never refuse a hug. Seriously. I am a hugger. Okay, you probably knew that. Something else I will not refuse is an opportunity to learn. My curiosity is relentless. I will often write things down to research later, when I have a chance. I will research things to the point of exhausting the topic. I am blessed with a good memory, too.

3. I have never been to Alaska or Hawaii, but I have been to almost all of the states on the U.S. mainland. I was tempted to quote the Three Dog Night song, "Never Been To Spain", here, but I believe I did that once before. *wink*

4. When it comes to blogging, I think we each have to do it in our own special way. Each of us is uniquely different. Ideally, in blogging, we can connect with like-minded people. If we do, we can enjoy that connection, feeling that we are also accepted for what we offer.
