Friendly Fill-ins: Week 70

We are happy you are here for another week of friendly sharing! As always, you can find the fill-ins here and at 15andmeowing.com each Thursday. On Fridays, we post the link for sharing. The first two fill-ins are always provided by Ellen. The final two statements are offered by myself. You are welcome to answer in the comments, but if you link up, even more people can share!

This week seemed a bit off-kilter for me. Perhaps it was the "ghostly aurora" in our atmosphere that created this feeling. I love natural phenomenon. Bill says that I seek the unusual and unexplained like a little kid would. For me, it is a special thread in the fabric of life.

The weather has been cooler here, lately. Yea, Autumn! She is just starting to warn Summer of things to come. That is okay, Summer can rest on her laurels, knowing she accomplished much.

I hope that Harvey survivors are safe and beginning to sort things out. I also wish those in the paths of Irma, José, and Katia safety. Stay safe, wherever you are. Prayers for all affected by nature's fury.

Enjoy your weekend and your loved ones. And, as always, be good to You.

Here are my completed fill-ins:

1. September Bucket List: 1) put the plants and yard to rest, 2) organize and purge basement storage, 3) organize writing, 4) re-establish blogging posts and sharing...Okay, this is really my Autumn bucket list. The minions will be here through September (at least), and it is all about them while they are here. I happily work around them.

2. If I came with a warning label, it would say, “CAUTION: Still waters run deep!” I think this sums me up rather well. Do not underestimate me. There is much that you do not know going on beneath a calm surface.

3. Truth be told, I could live without most technology if I could be surrounded by nature and wildlife. This is our goal in retiring up North. We will find plenty of things to do!

4. I would rather be disliked for who I am than liked for who I am not. I am always true to myself and my spiritual GPS. You can count on that…and on me.

~May everyone stay safe in this stormy weather!~
Prayers for all affected by nature's fury.

  1. Sounds like you have a full fall planned! I am sure you will succeed in completing everything on your bucket list. Number two could probably apply to me as well.

I hope you have a great weekend, Annie!

    1. Well, I am going to give it a go on that list! I really want to lighten the load of stuff we have in storage. It will be nice when there is less of it! Hugs.

  2. Annie,

I'm working on planning and composing many post in advanced, as well. I've taken on the attitude to not stress about blogging. I'm going to do what I want and enjoy the ride. For way too long I felt like I put myself in a blender to crank out or participate in various hops. Not any more, I'm gonna take it easy. :)

I enjoyed all of your answers and the memes to go with them always make me smile, especially the last one with the kitty hanging on the tree for dear life. lol I have to agree with you, it's always best to be true to oneself instead of trying to be something you aren't. We shouldn't care what others think, except for God and what He thinks IS all that matters. Take that, ye judgemental, ignorant, know-it-alls! Have a good weekend and thanks for hosting the fun, my friend!

    1. I try to not stress about blogging, because I do enjoy it. I wish I had more time for it, but right now, I just don't.
EXACTLY! As long as I know God is happy with me, I am okay with me. If I feel He is not, I try to fix the situation. His assessment of me is what matters. HUGS!

  3. My bucket list scares me because I know I just won't get it done until perhaps next September...

Your answers re deep as usual.
I hope that you slow down today and rest.

  4. "Still waters run deep" would probably be my warning label too. That is quite a list you've got going! :)

  7. It sounds like a fun fall ahead for you.

This town will be in clean-up mode for a very long time since the flooding was so extensive here. We appreciate the prayers and are praying for all those now in the paths of the new storms. May you all be safe!

    Have a blessed weekend!

    1. Well, fun is subjective. But, I will feel good when I get things better organized. Yes, prayers continue for those affected by these storms.

I especially like your answer to #4.

    BTW...I couldn't do without my electronics. :)

  9. I'm glad Teddy answered this week - he can have a bucket list but I'm awful about them - just as I am awful about making New Years resolutions. I quit doing them years ago - I would get way too disappointed in myself when I didn't follow through! Anyway, love your fill-ins this week as always AND of course your adorable graphics....that last one in particular - HANG ON.....I sure hope everyone stays safe from the storms.

    Love, Pam (for Teddy too!)

  10. Concats on keeping it real. I do too. That's why I'm not the most popular cat on the block. Have a good week.

    1. I respect "real". It is easier to deal with, whatever it is. I am not the most popular, either. And, that is okay. I am happy with that! Hugs.

  11. Number 4 is spot on. If you have to be fake to impress someone, it is probably not someone you really want to impress.

  15. Chunky waters ... I LOVE THAT. We stop by for the memes you find almost as much as for the fill-ins. I love your #4. It's so hard sometimes ... you shave off little bit by little bit and you don't realize how much of yourself you've hidden so people like you. It took many years for me to realize that quite often, when someone doesn't like you, it has more to do with them than it does with you.

    1. Aww...thanks, guys. Your comments mean a lot to me. They are meaningful and insightful. You are wise. Hugs.
P.S. I agree...I think it is more about the other person, when they give you a hard time. At least, that has been my experience. I even have had one person say, "This isn't about you!" ,when I defended myself. Shewas obviously right. It was about her! I was done. xo

  17. Thanks for the prayers for our area. Too many of our friends have been yellow slipped for us to mention. The hardest hit of our friends was Anwar. His yellow slip basically made him homeless and without a business.

We pray no one will be yellow slipped by these other storms.

    1. These storms displace so many people. But, thankfully, you and your friends seem to have a support system going. I hope Anwar was taken in until he can sort this out. Stay safe. Prayers.

  19. You always have the best completions and memes. I have so many things on my bucket list that I copped out and let Lily answer that one. The kitty flying in the wind is so cute and funny, but we are so frightened for all our friends in Florida. Sending lots of love, hugs and prayers, your friend Janet

    1. Thank you, Janet. I am having fun making some of the memes. It is difficult at times to find ones that sync with my fill-ins.
I agree. It is a constant worry for those in the path of nature's fury, whether storms, quakes, and fires.

  20. I don't think those cats can both fit in that bucket comfortably. They are too big. My family was safe during the hurricane. Thanks for your prayers. Still lots of weather going on in Florida and other parts of the Gulf. Houston, TX has been getting lots of fresh dry air and clear skies lately. Except for one cold front. I really like number 4!

  21. Your September sounds so busy, Annie. How nice that you get to do all of that stuff around the Minions. :)

Your fill ins are great, and the one you did for number 2 resonates so deeply with me. And Tracey's the same way, too!

We're purring and praying for all of those is the paths of those storms, and the fires out west. So scary.

    1. My September is definitely busy, and my To-Do List will flow into October and perhaps even November. *wink*
I am not surprised that your warning label and Tracey's would be the same as mine. It seems we have similar personalities.
With the storms, fires, and quakes, prayers are needed. Hugs!
